Thanks for keeping it real. I am 63 years old this week. A year ago I could barely walk. And am still struggling with health issues. As you can imagine my apartment is a total wreck. I'm a very organised person who cleans as I go and so is my family but my partner isn't. We often clash when he makes messes and gets overwhelmed by them because I feel the mess can be sorted in a short time anyway or at least prevented to some degree. Your videos have really opened my eyes to what he might be going through! I love the kindness you show yourself and your loved ones. It made me realise that this is the love and understanding my partner deserves. He's a lovely man and messes are just part of the package :)

Heck, it takes me 11 minutes just to make my bed. This is partly because my mother was a high-end, professional maid who taught me to make a bed with military corners and smooth, tight sheets you could bounce a quarter off of, and partly because my fiance loves my decorating style and wanted so many decorative pillows on the bed we now have a total of 13 pillows.😂 Fortunately, he will also make the bed for me, being the prince that he is. But I often DO timed cleanings also--both to get motivated and to get a house in general order fast.

Omg, thank you for this idea, the timer!!!! This week has been so bad, I cried everyday this week missing my boyfriend. I found him passed away in his kitchen almost four years ago. My life pretty much stopped and many times feel as I have no good reason to be here any longer. After finding you four weeks ago, I have been able to get back into a small routine and it has helped me so much. I'll be going to my son's tomorrow for a few days to celebrate the fourth of July. He has a large house with a swimming pool and I will be around the ones I love. After watching this I got busy on parts of my house so when I come back in a few days, my house will be in a clean state to welcome me back. Thanks Remi, keep it up😅. You're perfect and inspiring❤

Remy, this video is awesome--Those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind--is my personal motto. I would quote that to my kids almost daily. I struggle CONSTANTLY with executive functioning difficulties. Growing up, my mom was (still is) a neat freak-she comments on how clean a home is and will clean a home if she feels it is not clean enough for her standards. I would panic if she would show up unannounced. Cleaning anxiety is real, just getting started on the task can be so overwhelming. I have to set a timer just to get started. I feel so comforted to know I am not alone in this world, we must be soul sisters :)

I stumbled upon your video while searching for something else to watch, as I began another wasted day procrastinating from tidying and cleaning my own apartment because I'm overwhelmed daily by the thought of how to start what always seems like a monumental task. I'm so glad I did! 😊 Everything you said about yourself, your varied health and financial challenges and how you cope Life with a young family in a post-COVID worldwide economic crisis rang true with me. I was touched with admiration and inspired by your positive outlook and hope for a better Tomorrow. 🤗 Your calm, empathic, motivational attitude and sweet voice kept my attention as I watched you bravely tackle each task singlehandedly, without judgement or complain. I have ADHD, OCD, executive dysfunction and I don't mind cleaning and tidying, which I do for others - I just struggle doing it at my own home. 😱 I like the way you manage your To Do List. It's the best I've seen and I'll be doing mine your way from now. Hi Remi, I've just come across your channel, and have a few pennies to toss into the thought jar... Don't worry, it's mostly kind! First, whatever someone else thinks about your housekeeping, or family life... Sod 'em. I'm a big fan of "Not my circus, not my monkeys." The way you live your life isn't any of their concern, so they can just bugger off. Your kids are safe, fed, happy, you have a partner, your own house, that's so much better than what others have, as you say in your videos, so in my book (and I'm sure many others), that's fan-bloody-tastic!! Next up... Laundry... omg the laundry! It's just my husband and myself, and I detest it. I can't imagine it with kids too! I've found having laundry baskets instead of hampers helps! A hamper will carry 2-3 loads of laundry, and it takes half a day to wash through it all. Instead I use laundry baskets, which a basket holds 1 load of laundry. When the basket is full, it's time to toss a load in the wash. I find it keeps the piles down and clothes cleaned when needed. Now as to folding and putting laundry away, I got nothing for that, I struggle there, too! Hahaha I do find that the 'pick up as you go' works for me if starting from a spotless point, but after a while, tasks and chores pile up, and tasks are more important (grocery shopping, picking husband up or dropping him off, etc), and the 'do it as you go' gets tossed aside to save time. Instead I've found that if I leave 30mins before bed to walk around and just pick up things like plates, fizzy pop cans, little bits of tissue or wrappers or what have you, that helps keep the little clutter bits down, and I go to bed feeling accomplished, even if just for that little thing, because it's a task that is completed. I sleep better for it, wake up feeling better, and ready to do another 30mins in each room in the mornings, a different room each day. It's been a huge help for myself, and it might be something that helps you as well. Most importantly though, I just wanted to leave a message to let you know that you certainly are not alone! I've gone back to university in my 40's as I still have enough time to get an entire career in before retiring, and I find the time just disappears between studies and keeping up with daily tasks like homework/study, cooking, errands, etc. Anyways, thank you for posting these videos! They are inspirational and motivational, and so much positivity which is sorely lacking these days! Thank you for sharing, and I can't wait to see what you put up next!

I think it is amazing how you set your mind to it and you get things done. I remember those days when my kids were younger. Something was always messy. Now my husband and I are retired and most days the house is pretty darn clean. However, I watch my granddaughters and summertime is the busiest with them. I started watching your video early this morning and now 8 hours later I’m finally finishing it up. Picking things up as you go is just not always an option 😮. Today is one of those days. Neither were the days when my kids were young. Also, I didn’t usually make my kids do chores (unpopular decision, I know) because my husband worked and they were in school and as a stay at home mom, I felt that was my job. Everyone will be glad to know they all grew up wonderfully and are very hard workers ❤❤ Love your videos and voiceovers 👍👍👍

I am in love with your videos. Your house looks like my house! And my kids are older now, so although we don't have toys all over, the clothes and dishes are a struggle. Thank you, thank you. You are phenomenal!

I relate to you so much! Timers help me as well, but I want you to know that it has been hard for me to keep up with cleaning and tidying my entire life. To see you do your 10 minutes tidies has been a revelation. Thank you for being so brave.

Hello Remi. Glad to find your channel. I'm 57 yr old and I'm just like you. Nice to find your channel. I have 2 teens and a husband that I have to clean up after. I have fibromaylgia and cannot spend everyday cleaning. My family calls me lazy but I'm really not. Have a beautiful day.

My phone was on 17% when I clicked on here now it's 14% on red but I was determined to watch you 😊 I've never thought about timing myself for each room and it sounds like a good idea because without it I'm spending too much time in one room 😊 you've put me onto something there 😂 forget about what others say they probably live a perfect life with a perfect house but we're normal people who live a normal life and we live in the real world. When I came across your channel I was/am hooked because you are what we all are and your home is like the majority of our homes. I watch you more than I watch any other "cleaning videos" because you are relatable and so sweet. Everyone always assumes when they know nothing. Your life surrounds your Charlie and your boys no one's opinions are relevant so they should move on 😂 I was taught from an early age if you can't say anything nice say nothing and I've never offended anyone in all my 55 years and I can honestly say I'm proud of that ❤😊 I also did the tidying up when my boys went to bed clearing up after them but they would also help with cleaning the house. Let kids help when they want to not forced into it. Kids need their time. Imagine, well you have, where tidying up is more important than letting kids make a mess. You know how that feels hence why you are the way you are and it's a good thing in my eyes. Right I've got 9% left lol see you in your next video ❤❤

I love lists and checking them off, but this 10min stint per job/area has me motivated!! I like all yours quotes and wisdom throughout the video too. My kids are teenagers now, but I liked the: "I don't want yo be a stressed mum, I want to be a happy mum." That resonated with me and motivated me to get my shit together to make things flow better in the house. 😁👍🏼

Spending time together doing something everyone enjoys is far too important with young children to allow the perfection-driven to make you crazy or feel like less! Trust me, the kids when grown would much rather have had a happy and contented family than one obsessed with clean. Don't you believe the critics and their anger is certainly their choice and their problem. Keep doing what you're doing, Remi. You're doing fine. You work hard when you can and care for the family all the time.

Part of my problem cleaning... I am home all the time. I live the same day cleaning the same messes I have no friends anymore. Just home with the kids. For years. And it's so hard to fight the depression off and hold motivation for it all. I wish so bad I could just talk to you. Have a friend like you. Your personality is so refreshing and absolutely beautiful ❤️💯 uplifting for sure and your channel makes such a difference for me and alot of momma's / people... I know as soon as I watch your videos I'm like ready to tackle the day.... I make the mistake of watching it too late at night (like right now at almost midnight..) and I'm tempted to stay up all night cleaning! I have 4 little ones though so I can't realistically do that... anyways. You are AWESOME. I wish I had a friend like you.... And the 10 mins each room idea... Its GAME ON tomorrow for sure!! Thanks for that idea 💯😊

I'm a new subscriber but love hearing you chat away... my partner has been in hospital for 2 weeks and i don't know they will be home again... but listening to you talk and have a regular persons house clean makes me feel less alone. Remi, you are absolutely adorable. I found your videos by accident. I subscribed right away because I need all the cleaning motivation I can get sometimes. Don't worry about what people think. Some people will just make you miserable with their hateful comments. In the meantime though there are those of us who adore you for your honesty and being straight forward.

Thanks for another great video. One tiny tip for your bathroom clean - when you do the toilet, start at the top and work your way down to the seat. Then while the bowl soaks, start at the base and work your way back up to the seat. That way, you get the least germy parts clean first and are less likely to cross-contaminate the cleaner parts! Hope that helps :) If you are looking for more storage space for your boys' room, what about using the vertical space by using some shelves - either a tall bookcase to hold baskets and such, or some shelves attached to the wall? As my kids got older, I had a sorting station in their room. A certain table top was reserved for things that were waiting to be put away. For me, it really helped to be able to get all the stuff off the floor, even if it all didn't find it's home right away. I would eventually help fold the clothes into piles for each so it was clear who was responsible for putting away their own stuff. I always had lots of laundry. Two kids, pets, bedding, two adults, outer wear, bath towels... it was endless! Having more clothes doesn't make more laundry, it gives you more time between washes! I've lately decided to do a load each day, because I can't cope with masses of folding all at once. I throw it in first thing in the morning, and get around to drying and folding later. If you had a wall mounted drop-down rack, or a bathtub clothes line, would that help with drying? Single parent's definitely have it rougher, but I feel for all the working moms as well. I think most often it's mom who keeps all the balls in the air, organizing, planning, worrying, shopping scheduling... on top of parenting, spending time with a partner, juggling extended family and working. WOW. I don't mean that dad's don't participate, but most of the mom's I know lie awake with lists in their heads, while dad sleeps like a rock! Everyone talks about self care, but when you have little ones, that's often completely unrealistic. Hang in there :) AMAZING job - Well done 💛
