Do the physical therapy. I was hurt pretty bad a few years back, I neglected the physical therapy against the recommendation of all my doctors. Years later I found out I will likely never fully heal because I didn't get full range of movement while healing. Daily pain forever because I was stubborn. Don't do what I did.

Man is this some crazy deja vu. I had the same injury (on one arm) also in the academy, almost 8 years ago to the day. Dislocations like that are horrible but you will be amazed at how fast you recover. Start doing as much as you can as soon as you can! It really helps those shoulders heal. Trust your body & don’t be afraid to push the limits. You can do more than you think already. Go back and make this a success story! God bless 🙏

I started watching your videos because I was looking for some reviews on different optics and MOA options, and then started enjoying more of your content. I just wanted to say that your skill level, passion for self-defense, and an almost soothing demeanor makes you an ideal candidate for a career in law enforcement. I hope you can fulfill that goal in some capacity.

Sending prayers your way man. I’ve been through similar circumstances having torn both of my ACL’s wrestling in High School/College. Losing the ability to walk for a week left me feeling so helpless and losing the ability to wrestle for a year was depressing. Keep up with the PT assigned by the doctor and go above and beyond! Stay motivated and know that the Lord has a higher purpose in your suffering that we cannot see. His plan is perfect. God bless!

The joy Christ gives us even in times like these is quite beautiful. I went through a different but equally as miserable medical issue that took me 2 years of recovery and forever challenges. But asking God what His Will is for this in your life will bring you closer to Him. God is good all the time! How encouraging to see a young brother in Christ to be experiencing His grace and mercy in times that are not easy. Php 4:13 (KJV) 13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. God bless and I’ll be praying for your recovery and blessings in your quiver. Congratulations! Psa 127:3-5 (KJV) 3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. 4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. 5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

Thanks for sharing your story, I live in Texas have my own range, and myself also am a believer like you. I shoot more than most I think. My carry gun I put over 5000 rounds through in 5 months just to test the reliability, and it passed wonderfully. Only 2 malfunctions the slide locked back twice prematurely, probably the mag. But back to your injury I am 64 years old and hurt my knee about a month ago. Still waiting to see about surgery, I’ve worked hard all my life and it’s been a real struggle to not be able to do things I want to do. And at times I get upset and feel sorry for myself. Then I watched your video and was ashamed of myself for feeling and acting the way I do at times. You really put things in perspective! Thanks pray God speeds up your healing and get back to what you enjoy, God,family and guns.

Praying for you brother. If you're in Texas I'd recommend you apply to be a State Trooper once you're healed up. I'd love to serve with you. We are always hiring like crazy. We are losing too many troopers to promotions, retirement, etc. The tasing is optional and out of 100 in the class, only 4-5 end up getting tased, standing up.

First off, DO THE THERAPY!!! Don't slack, don't make excuses. Shoulder PT sucks, but you NEED to do it if you want your body to heal properly. God gave us the amazing ability to heal and people with the knowledge to help us heal properly, so long as you have the discipline to do so. Second, the perspective you're taking on all of this is inspiring. I know that this is just one video recorded one day, and that you probably have plenty of moments of doubt and of questioning why God gave you an opportunity only to yank it away with an injury. I don't have any good answer, but I do see a silver lining or two. You'll be able to be home for almost all of your child's first year! I know that taking care of you while being super pregnant is probably extremely challenging for your wife, and even moreso after the birth, but this is going to be such a good opportunity for the two of you to bond early on in your marriage and will let you appreciate your wife in all kinds of new ways! Step up and help whenever you're physically able to do so, and be her emotional grounding in this time. Being a good husband needs to be a primary goal during this healing time. Be your wife's biggest cheerleader during this time, when you're able to, give her breaks and rest, cook, clean, do whatever your body allows you to do; and when you can't do anything, love her in every way that you can, write her notes, encourage her always, any time you see anything that she does for you or your family, acknowledge and thank her for it, cuddle up to her whenever she wants to be close to someone, make trinkets with your hands as gifts, just do whatever comes to mind. It's not that you aren't providing or protecting your wife, it's that you're providing for and protecting different aspects of your wife; notably emotionally and spiritually. It's ok to ask for help to. Something I've come to realize recently is that any time you have a friend or loved one that needs something, you genuinely want to do whatever you can to help them, because you love and care for them. Well guess what? They want to do the same for you! Everyone wants relationships that have depth, and depth is created through vulnerability, reliance, and shared experience. So by not asking for help when you need it (whether it be a ride to your physical therapist or help cooking because you're immobile and your wife is too occupied with the baby), you are robbing your friends and family of the opportunity to love you well. That's an incredibly selfish way to live. I'm glad that you have so much support from your church and such a healthy perspective from a spiritual standpoint, but if you need one more young Christian man to talk to, I'm always here (although I don't know how KZitem DM's work, haha)

I was in training at the police station in my city and the same thing happened to me. They had me lay down on a mat with hands up and was tased and it dislocated my right shoulder and torn my labrum and had surgery as well. That was 8 months ago from surgery and still have weakness and strength I need back. So I know exactly what you went through, it sucked and don’t recommend getting tased.

@@citizenresponse at least it was just my 1 arm, my left was hurt too but did not dislocate. I had a guy on each side holding me down and they used alligator clips for the probes. Not sure if it was exact scenario for you but obviously more prevalent than you thought. When I signed the waiver that described what could happen I didn’t think it would be me. Only advice I can tell you is keep up with the physical therapy, especially having a pulley on a door at home.

This seems like a dangerous and needless training expertise to go through then. I’m no expert in this, but just hearing that both of you had this type of injury from probably the same training exercise, then I think it’s probably worth getting rid of and replacing it with something better. Hopefully this is a rare occurrence though, maybe God bless your recovery.
