Nice!! On the front under the motor, you could mount a camper scissor jack to lift the front up and move your tires plus double as a tongue jack.

Thanks! I thought so too. Sure it needs some paint, but hell, it'll dig a hole just as slowly as a new machine.

To be fair, the starter and generator on the Case could be easily rebuilt by you local shop. Standard Ford style; all the internals are common and the mounting ends could be reused.

No doubt there. But you're still making it work, Just like the trencher when it breaks. On a side note, when that engine dies, I hope to adapt a 4 cylinder Ranger or Iron Duke engine into it.

I think I saw a video a while back where folks were upgrading their hydro pump for a couple hundred bucks and it sped up the hydraulics quite a bit, something to think about if it moves to slow for ya. I don't recall the gph of harbor freights current model or the upgrade pump. Yup 9 hunny was a steal brother, still a steal even after the new motor cost. Good on you man, take care.

It's comes with a 3, and people put in a 4.1ish, problem I have with that is it speeds up the rotate too much. As I've learned from my last digger project; rapid movements quickly wear out the pivot points.

$900 ? Score ! With the new engine and if you add $50 worth of paint you've still got a smoke'n good deal ! By the way, love the seat. That's not stock I take it. I always thought it would be cool to add a hydraulicly retractable swing down rear wheel set that had a couple of hydraulic motors to drive them. Link a front wheel dolly to the rear swing down set and use independent drive motor controls and viola, the next best thing to a mini excavator!

It may be older but it doesn't look like a lot of wear on those pins I don't think it's had a lot of use

Not sure but i think you can grease the backhoe with a needle grease fitting in the center of the pin.and the swing pin is a stadard fitting inside the holes .but very hard to remove grease gun .trun the boom to one side and you will see them .

I've been trying to save up for one of these for a few months now, seems like life gets ahead of you doing it's really hard to save. On the plus side I got my '86 Ford running this past weekend, Ford F-150 super cab lariat 8-ft bed, automatic of course. Every other vehicle I have is a standard but their cars or bikes, basically what I'm saying is I'd hate to finally be able to afford one of these and then my truck not even be able to pull it, truck has it some age on it. I mainly want one so that I can redo my water line which is several thousand feet, and I would like to possibly convert a little pawn that I had dug years ago, well friend did, but I wanted to kind of square it up and turn it into a root cellar.

Don't know if it matters and I can't tell from the video but for anyone else reading here when you buy a new small engine like that I'm pretty sure in the instructions and even if it isn't when you first start it you never run it at full speed until it has been broken in for about 20-25 hours of use. This sets the piston rings in the cylinder wall and all the rotating components are broken in and also during this there are microscopic pieces of abrasive metals in the oil so you change the oil like within three to five days of use at medium rpms. I was watching the video and saw him start it and my first thing was thinking of my grandfather from 1960 and what he would say and the first thing that came to mind was, Now watch this, he will crank the engine up to full speed, it's just a humans natural inclination. I used to build race motors and you would baby the engine at say no more than 1500 rpms when you did any internal parts replacement like a bigger cam to wear the components together against their all new parts, but yeah, you really wanted to stomp on it right after you got it started. 🙃

You need to move the boom far left/right to switch the axles to the front. I use my cub cadet rider to move the machine around the property. Nice buy

To move the tires to the front , pull the legs , put it on the ground , and tether-totter with the boom extended till the tires are off the ground . Put the back down lift the front put tires in. The machine does the lifting.

Not a bad idea, but I don't think those are the original axle hubs or rims. Looks like it uses a chevy 5 lug pattern; probably put on there to tow it down the highway better.

Sold it to make another/better one, then this popped up for sale. Within moments of listing it I had nearly a hundred messages from potential buyers, and it was gone in hours. Shocking how desirable it was. Especially with my listing title of "digging machine; scrap, hydraulics, or parts"

If you start it up and and have the wheels in the tow position all you need to do is extend the arm out and it will balance out and you can lift the hitch end up Easley with your hand to couple it to the vehical.
