The federal credit union for vets m,military, and federal employees is AMAZING i think they give like 5% or some other equally crazy number Right now i use America First (AFCU) and honestly their normal checking and savings aren’t crazy but their customer service is great, any time ive been charged an overdraft on my checking i can just call in and it’s gone. And i have found them to be as responsive as credit card company’s when i have issues with being charged for something I didn’t purchase and other little issues like that. But what’s really great is their student savings account. Based on age not student status to qualify. It’s a money market account that gives i think also 5% that you can transfer and withdraw from like a regular savings account. Completely liquid with high yield, perfect place for an emergency fund imo.

I work at a credit union in Indiana as a personal banker. We offer a 3% checking account (up to 15,000) as long as you use your debit card 10 times in one month. On top of that we have a tiered money market where at 1000 you earn 1.5% 50,000 you earn 1.6 100,00 1.7 and it maxes out at 2% at 750,000. Speaking from experience at least when it comes to credit unions 95% of personal bankers I work with will not charge you fees for replacement debit cards or checks or other miscellaneous fees. Obviously that’s just my personal experience. I really think that we offer some of the best accounts for even credit unions

Helpful and informative for all.The Hidden Agenda of ‘Interest’ Versus ‘Profit’ Importance of Bank Banks are an essential component of the present day world-individuals as well as public and private institutions can hardly operate without the institution of banking.

When you move over to a completely online bank without physical locations how does depositing and withdrawing cash work? Are you able to go to any atm or what?
@lissarae
3 жыл бұрын
Some online banks are able to collect deposits through cash-accepting ATMs. With a Capital One 360 checking or savings account, for example, you can deposit cash in a machine at one of the Capital One cafes or bank branches in a few states and handful of cities around the country. Another bank, Radius Bank, participates in two networks of deposit-accepting ATMs, ones that carry the NYCE or MoneyPass logo. Online banks such as Ally, Capital One 360 and Discover let you link your account electronically to another account at a traditional bank or credit union. If that linked institution has a local branch, make your cash deposit there. Then, create an electronic transfer, also known as an ACH transfer, to move the money to your online bank. Many institutions allow free ACH transactions, though they can take up to three business days to complete. You can also transform your cash into an easy-to-deposit check by buying a money order at a local retailer or a post office, then make it payable to yourself. If your online bank has an electronic scan feature, you can snap a photo and upload the money order to your account for deposit. If your bank doesn’t have this feature, you can mail it to the bank’s headquarters for deposit.

You missed Schwab with its free international atm fees and no fx fees with visa interchange rates with fast and free ach (most banks take 3 days), only thing is interest rates but thats not what we use schwab for, also sticking your money in a checking for returns is not the best way to invest, but you already know that.
