The Tatsuro Yamashita version is awesome too, that bass line just slaps. Seriously, the fact that this song became a smash hit and is enjoying a second wind is awesome. City Pop is great shit. When you translate the lyrics, boy do the songs hit hard.

In a similar fashion, I wonder if there can be a bar themed after the Heisei period. It's the time after Showa, mostly the 90s. As a westerner, for me, that would be awesome, but don't know how the average Japanese feels about the 90s. Edit: ok, apparently the Heisei period is more extended than I thought, covering up to 2019! So while I'd like the idea of a Japanese 90s bar, it's not realistic 😅

As a WoD fan, my addition to these theories is that JapanEat is a ghoul serving a Japanese vampire bloodline dating back to the very first era. He's so good at keeping up with the times, it is a great help to make sure the vamps stay updated. As one of the perks is immortality and, well, all them foods.
