@@Phrankleen13, what you are calling trivial matters or dictatorial are not trivial in the UK. I am from Zambia and in 2016 I was rushed to hospital, while I was recuperating in there, a nurse attended to me and in the course of a brief talk she asked if she could pray for me and I said she could but only after my pain had subsided. Then she said, you see that is why you are I love you pain because you have refused to pray. I was incensed, Furious and outraged. So was another patient who was in the same ward as me. I got up and shouted back at her so ferociously, other nurses came and asked what was wrong, i narrated everything and was then told that the nurse had broken the rules. They are not allowed to proselytise to sick patients in hospital. She was dismissed from work. I agree with that law, because in hospital I want to recuperate and heal, not allowing my ward room turned into a pulpit.

Hi Mr Phrankleen good presentation. I am in the Diaspora and I want to say that most times you(Phrankleen) look at this from only the angle of material acquisitions and building houses and success. You barely look at the peace of mind and security part of things. Imagine a Nigerian from Sokoto, Bornu or Ogoniland, what will you advice such a one. Imagine a Nigerian who is a researcher or space scientist or a worker with the physically challenged. Imagine a Nigerian who will never give a bribe to get things done, how can he survive doing any form of business in Nigeria? Some of us are cut out to live in the Diaspora because we are not ensnared by greed or that desire to get all we can get. Most Africans should return back to Africa if they are from countries like Ghana, Seychelles, Morocco, even Uganda where governments are proactive in providing suitable abode for their people. Where they can go to bed and not worry about marauders and area boys hounding them around. There are so many layers of this such that material success and building houses should not be the only yardstick for assessment.

Hi I am a Consultant physician in the UK. There are a lot if successful doctors in the UK. Things are not the way it was. A lot of Nigerian doctors behave badly mostly non medical, things that are tolorated in Nigeria but not in the UK. I know this and when they are pulled up they will play the fascist card. I agree with some of what us said. If you want to leave your country do it when you are young and single. When you are much older with a wife and family it is very different. Someone has to look after the kids, child care is very expensive in the UK. Even white Britons struggle and if not for grand parents who baby sit they will struggle economically.

Crime is going up faster and faster every month, it is now unsafe to walk to streets of Toronto at day and night. The increase in interest rates is cause many families to lose their homes, and due to the shortage in housing (Canada wide) and the high cost of living many are being left homeless. There is so much more that I wish I could speak on like government corruption, nepotism, insecurity, unemployment and more. Working from home now and I do far less than in naija but I earn more. Above all, my wife is more empowered now. In short, she alone can pay the house and energy pills. Mind you my wife was almost doing nothing in naija. I was working in a multinational company earning over N25million in Nigeria. Guy , my household(My wife and I) now earns over £75,000 after tax. I even have capacity to add one freelance online job that will earn me addition 30k pounds. No school fees payment for the children, better healthcare, safer place. my monthly bills plus rent not more than £1,500. My only advise for people coming is that they should be strategic. I easily got a job because I had a deep dive experience with a multi national. If you are experienced with a multi national in Nigeria, you can easily get a job here. People who struggle are people without skilled experience who will definitely have no option than health care.

I feel that many people do not just decide to move away from their comfort zone for no reason. Granted that one must make research before venturing out to another country but the truth is that you cannot account for all the variables. Some people left for the UK several years or decades ago and still think of the country (Nigeria) as it was before they left but in truth, there has been immense deterioration overtime in the welfare of the average citizen. For every ill mentioned in the UK there is a comparatively worse circumstance back home. Those who are perceived to be doing well before immigrating out of the country are probably just trying to get out of the sinking ship before it is totally immersed in water. During the pandemic, there were a lot of suicides in Nigeria, people's businesses perished, palliatives meant to ease the burdens of Nigerians hoarded, then there is the insecurity from hoodlums, terrorists and even those sworn to protect its citizens. You can make above-average income in Nigeria and still feel poor, scared and unsafe. There have been so many investments made in the country by Nigerians and foreigners alike that have all amounted to futility just because of the nature of political clime and the policies put in place to ensure that only people of a certain class in the country succeed. In all one has to weigh his options. Someone who is already on the ground has no direction but up.

So your friends in Nigeria have more opportunities than you do over there? Be deceiving them my boss! Continue! Compare two men without college degrees, one living in Nigeria and another living abroad, both just starting life at 30 and tell me who will survive and thrive and who will die of hunger! Then you’ll understand why your friends are envying you here. Stop deceiving our youths, let them come abroad, gain the experience, hustle, the money and then they can decide to go home and develop their country but not to remain there and be hoping on a failed system to change their future

There are others who couldn't do anything in Africa. I have a class mate who has finished her master's with top class and yet couldn't get a job for 5 years. She won the DV lottery and just in 2 years, she's doing bigger projects at home. Got trained for managerial post after 4 months of working. They saw her potentials and push her to the top. Since it was a field outside her education, she's taking another masters. So for me,it all depends on what you have doing at home. Anything from 1000 usd monthly, you're well off in Africa because living expenses are cheaper compare to the West and if you're a good manager of your money you can invest well.

This where the context comes in . If you are doing well in Nigeria, it’s not really worth it to be honest in fact don’t come. But if you have nothing going for you in Nigeria like many cluesless graduates that are not married and have no kids that this country has abandoned. They have that appetite to take the risk. @Essy .... my response was to life outside Nigeria is unbelievable. Anywhere in the world can be unpredictable and dangerous. However, Nigeria is more so when compared to other countries around the world. In France and the UK, for example, parents don't need to worry that their children who are in school are being taken by Boko. To not be seen again for the next 5 years, then when they are seen, they are pregnant because they had been violated against their will. Yes, not everything in the West is perfect, but the general security is much better than in Nigeria, and the society is less dangerous.

It's so peaceful and stressless. We are not overtaxed and depending on where you live, life can be quite affordable. I know a felloww that relocated back to Osun state. His business is thriving and he is living his best life. So many low hanging fruit opportunities and a lot of social support. You would get baby sitters with no pressure and even a family member would happily keep them for weeks and still thank you. Lovely country.

7:13 you don't even need to explain, the right people understand you perfectly. You save lives, you saved mine with some of your videos. I will explain someday. Hope someday we get to meet you. Did you hear of a white South Africans ( some also travel blindly) who went to New Zealand with her husband and 3 children in 2021 , just few weeks after living there she strangled her 3 children to death, it was her first time having to care for the children herself, in South Africa maids and nannies are cheaper. For the first time she had to care for her children while the husband was at work, she could not cope. They had left the comfort they had in South Africa, greed pushed them to New Zealand. The wife is arrested, the husband came back to South Africa. I wonder what could have happened if they had seen some of your videos, Remember white South Africans also struggle to connect with Europeans, Australians and kiwis, even though they white there's a huge cultural difference, there's a way we all do things in Africa. There's a lot of these stories its just that this one got people talking because there were 3 children killed.

Hi Phrank! Yes, the brutal reality is that it is not easy in the Western world, and the majority of Nigerians that moved abroad were doing pretty well in Nigeria! The decision to move abroad for some of us is not only economical. I had a good job in Nigeria and living a good life, but I almost got hit by straight bullets twice on my way back from work in Nigeria. My ex colleague's son was hit by straight bullets on his street. there is always a trade-off in every decision you take. My advice is to talk to people living abroad so that you will not have so many surprises after you have moved in here.

If you are in Africa or Asia making 1000USD+, there's no need traveling to the West. But if you are unemployed, young or earns live 200-500 usd a month, then for sure, you can travel. One people also with Africans is, most of us don't upgrade ourselves when we're in the West and live way beyond our income and get trapped in the system. I know a couple without children who bought a 9 bedroom house, buying ridiculous mortgage. Some have cars they pay 1000 usd car note monthly. So it all depends on where you're in life, what you do with what you get. I observed most rich people in the West don't live lavished lifestyle above their income but poor people do that a lot.

Thank you for such an in depth information. I lived and worked in UK for 40 years as a qualified nurse, midwife and health visitor. All my training in UK. Also got a degree in psychology from East London university. I'm retired now and spend time back home. The reason for going to UK is different for those going now. I needed to have a profession in the 70s. But now it's about making money. No passion for the job. Things were also difficult then. But you proved yourself to be as good if not better. If one has a house in Africa, never never sell it. Houses increase in value every year. When one retires, you can go back and live in your house. Old people in care homes in UK pay for their care. Some of them sold their houses to use the money for their care in care homes. They don't live there for free which most of our Africans believe/think. I do consultancy work with child development and advise those with children with disabilities/special needs. That was my area of expertise in the UK. Stay blessed
