Kansas was way ahead of their time. One of the greatest bands to come out of the states.

How were they ahead of their time? Progrock was everywhere at the time. Some people just write meaningless comments to sound clever.

I saw them in concert. The lead singer play the keyboard standing on his hands feet straight up in the air. Insane.

Kansas was a great band from the 70's. Their musical style is a fusion of hard rock, southern rock & progressive rock. "Carry On Wayward Son" & "Dust In The Wind" are their 2 biggest hits. But they had other good songs such as "Point Of Know Return", "Hold On", "People Of The South Wind", "Play The Game Tonight", "Fight Fire With Fire", "All I Wanted" etc.

Well said Sarah! Kansas is an incredible and talented group. I can also highly recommend their song "Dust In The Wind". I shows a completely different side of this powerhouse band. As always, I so appreciate your channel and all the wonderful music you bring!

Hi, Sarah. This was THE song for radio airplay when it came out in the 70s because it was hugely popular. All of their music is good, and their lyrics have a deeper meaning. For a softer side of the band, you might try Dust In The Wind. For a mind blowing instrumental roller coaster, try Miracles Out Of Nowhere. Loved ❤this reaction video.

Back in the day when this was hot for some reason Kansas NEVER played in Nebraska. I lived there so a buddy and I had to go to Red Rocks Colorado(God's Cathedral). Very well worth the trip and a nice ride on a couple of Harleys with our girls. 300 miles each way with roughly $1 a gallon for gas on bikes. Hell yeah.😎😎 I've seen them since then with the new band members in Reno (Harrah's former outdoor venue) Still killin' it. I still have this LP./Album. "Point of Know Return" and "Dust in the Wind" are two other awesome songs from that era 45 years ago. They're still played on classic rock radio. "Surely Heaven waits for you"😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

Yet another mainstay of my childhood. Feel so blessed to have had parents and grandparents that introduced me to great music. Kansas is amazingly talented. Glad you enjoyed! Love when you start singing and moving. Then, I know it has hit home. Keep listening to them. Their catalog is incredible!

Kansas has such a great lineup..2 guitarists that could both bring it, a multi-instrumentalist lead singer, a violin playing/ strong backing vocalist, and a sharp rhythm section..Talk about a championship team of talent...Brought a smile to face seeing you jamming on this, Sarah!

Kansas was a hybrid band: somewhat folk and somewhat rock. There were a few others that really bridged the gaps. Ultimately, they had some serious skills on instruments as well as solid vocals and lyrics. And they wrote all their own stuff. They would not become famous today because now it's about looks and not the music. I'd love to see you react to "Run Runaway" by Slade.

I loved your reaction and I have always loved this song since it came out when I was in high school. But I have to point out that this was the studio version of the song matched up with some live video. It's pretty well put together but there are discrepancies that give it away (especially if you're a musician). Still a great song and cool video though.
