And he said hed kill him again because he wanted to be god of war for every reason except the right one. Tyr applauds him for knowing the difference. Kratos' mom had no relation to the throne. @@dylanhopkins5934 Most of the story outside of the first 3 hours and th last 3 hours was extremely rushed. It ft as if we where rushing through story beta after storybeat for the singular reason that this is a videogame and the story needs to have all the characters by the end in their places for Ragnarok, even if it didn't made any narrative sense. Also alot of parts took me out of the game especially how they where filmed, like characters popping behind props and stuff made me only think how the motion cap filming happened rather than these being real characters who made it to the battle. All in all Ragnarok as an event was likely the smallest scale even that happened in the entirety of gow franchise for the soul reason that the over the shoulder camera hid the sheer scale of it. The hydra fight from the first game felt bigger than Ragnarok.
@dylanhopkins5934
9 ай бұрын
@cloudshifter that's a very interesting perspective to compare it to the hydra fight in the first game and say it felt smaller. Don't know how you came to that conclusion in the slightest. Especially seeing as its likely the biggest if not second biggest in terms of scale. If you have a problem with the over the shoulder camera then I guess I can see why you dont like the game that much, although you dont seem to dislike 2018 which is interesting. But in terms of scale, ragnarok has objectively done some of the best in all of the franchise. The games story was not rushed for the most part either. It was pretty easy to follow and it made narrative sense. Its all there so im not sure what didnt make narrative sense to you. I'm not sure what you mean by the characters popping behind props though, so I can't speak on that. The game has a couple fair critiques but honestly most of the ones I've heard are nitpicky and don't even make sense. And the few critiques it does have get blown out of proportion when ultimately they didn't effect the game nearly as much as people make it out to seem.
@Ali_Enan

Great list, however, I'd have to disagree with the Ragnarok ranking. I felt the same way the first time I played, but on a replay, I realized that many of the critics are a little unwarranted ngl. People mostly complain about the Iron Wood sequences with Atreus, but that part of the story is the most important for his character, with him finally being able to be a kid for once in his life. It is such a pivotal moment for him, and it puts him at a crossroads for which direction he wants to take his life from now on, which in turn leads to the direction of the rest of the game. I can see why people find it boring, but when looking at it from a bigger picture, I began to enjoy and appreciate it a lot more. Also with Freya's brother, I argue that his sacrificing himself was honestly the only way he could have gone out in any meaningful way. Finally, I do not think that the story had too many plot lines. Everyone had their own time and place, and it all summed up in the finale of Ragnarok. None were really overshadowed or underdeveloped. Overall, I do think the game is better than GoW4, but I can also see why people may disagree.

Gow3 is a fukn masterpiece, when Kratos was the Real god of war.
@newhybrid101

According to the old lore Kratos wasnt even the God of War at the time. Even Aphrodite says he is no longer the God Of War and that was in later parts of the game,he didnt even have the soul of a god to use the Hyperion Gates His power in that game is due to the magical power ups as well as retaking the Blade back which according to the GoW2 novel only gave him his god strength back and not his god status and position. If he was the God Of War he would have the same abilities as Ares,which he somewhat showed in the opening of GoW2 as he descended from the skies in flames like Ares did to save Kratos life. Simply put the Norse games have a different definition of a God,they call any half breed with godly strength a god. Its more of an honorary title at this point. Kratos wasnt a god in GoW3,he was just the destroyer of the gods. A demigod with strength above the gods,the reason being all the amps and power ups he had. He was definitely not born a god like 2018 said,he was born almost mortal/superhuman and not even a full fledged demigod a status which he only achieved after Ares gave him power and trained him. Kratos only achieved ful god status after he buried his brother Deimos(he had only partly ascended after sitting on the throne in the end of GoW1) and until Zeus took his godhood away in GoW2

I think the main problem with Ragnarok was definitely the story pacing, If their had been a second game focused on the years of 'Fimbulvetr/Fimbulwinter' the Norse Saga would have come out a lot stronger. Freya could have been a pursuing antagonist in the same way that Baldur was, the Raiders/Viken could have been her personal minions/warriors used against Kratos, which was hinted at, in the Codex in Ragnarok. I.e, she was directing/encouraging them to harass Kratos. Her identity remaining hidden, with Kratos thinking she was a Valkyrie sent by Odin, Freya donning her armoured full-body look like in her Ragnarok boss fight? This game could have been focused on preparing for Ragnarok, investigating/exploring Atreus's powers. Working with Brok and Sindri to reinforce Kratos's and Atreus's equipment which is weakening due to Fimbulvetr, showing the loss of some of the powers we has in 2018. Still using Tyr's Temple to visit some of the Other Realms, locations which could be revisited in Ragnarok of course. Doing new Trials of Muspheheim, exploring new parts of Jotunheim which start Atreus on learning the Giant Magic and collecting the first Giant Soul Stones? He could end up creating Jormungandr who stays in Jotunheim to grow in size til Ragnarok. And Kratos would be keeping tight-lipped about the Jotunheim prophecy. We could have also had a subplot involving Atreus raising the wolves that grow to pull their sled in Ragnarok. Maybe introduce some new antagonists, like some of the missing Aesir or Vanir gods? Edit: This theoretical game could also have had the hunt for Tyr tied into it, perhaps being the end goal of the game. Learning he's in Svartlheim by the end? Odin could lock down Realm travel like at the start of Ragnarok which pauses the pursuit until Ragnarok?

The biggest thing Ragnarok had going for it was its gameplay and how it refined 2018’s formula, with the story being unfortunately a bit less solid with the troubles it has from condensing what should have been two games into one. But that also is why I think Valhalla is such a great expansion because it is such a gameplay heavy expansion where the game’s strengths really came out brilliantly. Not to mention its good story/lore relevance and connection to Greece. Definitely agree with the verdict that it almost feels like its own separate experience that while smaller, feels more well put together than Ragnarok. I wouldn’t be surprised if by now, I have more hours put into it then the base game.

I get that the character development had to be there for future story telling but we’re talking about Kratos here. Having him rage out and putting fear into everyone around him IS his staple. Having not single killed Odin was a let down. The fight was awesome though, seeing Atraus hit Odin when it was needed.. it all felt soft/hollywood when the game was completed. I loved God Of War (2018) and God Of War Ragnarok! They are both fantastic games! My favorite parts of the game are when Kratos and Freya are together trying to stop Odin along with Atreus. I also love the segment where Atreus meets Angrboda in Ironwood for the first time. He's expressing his interest in her in a big way and he also acts a little shy around her too but also tries to open himself up to her as the game goes on too. Angrboda does the same and she definitely likes Atreus an awful lot right from the beginning. It's absolutely incredible how their bond strengthens throughout the main story campaign in God Of War Ragnarok too. I also love how the bond between Kratos and Atreus grows stronger as well despite Atreus pushing his father away in the beginning of the game. Even though Kratos is against Atreus making reckless decisions he comes to realize by towards the end of the game how much Atreus has grown as a warrior.

The speed in which they wrapped up stuff with freya was kinda baffling. It took like 30 minutes to come back around after some platform dialogue, which is kinda boring ngl. Obviously, the ironwood section - dogwater, why tf would a GoW game make me pick up fruit for an hour, then make me get paint for the next hour. Then there's the actual ragnarok event, it isn't bad, but DAMN did it feel rushed it only lasts like 30 minutes, then we immediately defeat thor and Odin back-to-back. There are still things I really like, though. The combat got really good I won't lie, though the over the shoulder camera really screws you over sometimes. Most of it makes sense and while the Ironwoods section went a lil too long it was still a good part. It was only like 2% of the game at most tho so I don't see how it affects that much. The Freya section was good, and honestly if you found much of the dialogue and story in that section boring then I don't see why there's a complaint about it being too quick. It doesn't make any sense. Everything you mentioned didn't really affect the game that much tbh. 90% of it is still amazing and the highs are some of the best highs in the series.

Just so yk I had like 4 or so runs of the story, 2 of them being 100% runs. The more I played it, the more I saw its flaws, and damn is there is quite a bit. End of the day, it's our own opinions. Interesting list...I think I maybe wrote about this in the Community section (or it might be in the videos I did for those games), but for me GOW2 was better than GOW3 overall because of a couple things. GOW3 had no NG+ and also that entire Hera green globe sequence, which was goofy at best. The Guitar Hero section wasn't great, either, nor was the flying up through the overly long chimney section...twice. I don't think there's really a bad GOW game per se, despite the many bad decisions that Ascension made repeatedly, but definitely those parts of GOW3 I found overly tedious.

When I was a kid, now I’m 21, I was shocked by the violence and gore of GOW3 , and I never cared for it (please read until the end) until I heard the 2018 game and I was like 16,and I actually liked the game but never watched the full game and never understood well the story so I moved on again. In 2019 I became a game dev and saw the importance of videogames in life and after Ragnarok came and improved it in every aspect of it’s predecessor, I actually read a good amount of lore and a quarter of my free time in 2023 and 2024 was dedicated to watch other people play, mostly Marz and Kastaclysm (I was just love to watch girls play this type of games because they admire and apreciate the little details in character models, environments and even story, and I apreciate everything) so…. , for at least 200 hours of God of War Ragnarok and 2018 combined and I also see those videos without commentary that have at least 15 hours with the full game so I can take my own conclusions. I didn’t buy the 2018 on PC because of the enemy variety but I’m considering on buying because of the story and I’m waiting for the pc port of Ragnarok and don’t have a PS5 because I have an expensive PC and I prefer that platform! Nowadays I’m almost as obsessed with God of War as you and every now and then I comment or post or use a quote of Kratos from the newer games and some of the older as well. Thank you for your time and patience! The Norse & Greek gods love you, sorry they aren’t up there anymore, anyways Kratos and God and Jesus loves you, so do I! ❤❤❤ Peace, people!

I don't know what a "RN" is because I am not a native English speaker so I'm not gonna hate on you, but you are claiming I don't like and don't understand what I do which I'm shockingly sad for hearing it because the only thing I don't like in it is the fact the hater minority is toxic to me because of the games I make that I spend thousands of €€€ and hours working on them. And in fact, I studied and still study by myself by aquiring and reading books about game dev, game design and narrative building and I followed and bought various courses online during the years to have more knowledge! I definitely agree with almost 100% of this list, but I think separating valhalla from ragnarok is a bit dumb. I get it, Valhalla was beautiful, and it was what ragnarok needed to feel full, but it is still in the ragnarok video game. That would be like someone separating any from software dlc from the main games or separating tlou left behind from tlou. I have personally never seen anyone split the dlc from main games when ranking. For me, valhalla is what pushed ragnarok above 2018. Btw it would have been cool to know your thoughts on GoW ascension multi-player. That mode single handedly pushed ascension over ghost of sparta and chains of olympus (gameplay wise) My favorite is GoW2 though, the set up for GoW3 was amazing

I'm really tired of people disliking Ascension just because it was a prequel and was released after GOW III. It's just a really lame excuse to hate on a decent God Of War game in my opinion. There's no such thing as weird timing or a bad time to release a prequel, and it sure as hell shouldn't make a game any worse. Considering this was the very first part of the Greek God Of War stories, I'm not complaining that it didn't offer much. People simply didn't keep their expectations low. Everyone expected a GOW game moving forward to the story, but instead got a prequel, and everyone ended up really disappointed and disliking the game and making up excuses to make the game seem worse than it actually is. Overall, I really just don't get the hate, sure it has its flaws, but I don't think it's justifiable to hate a game because it's a prequel and how it was a weird time to release it. I mean, why? Just why? It's just infuriates me because there's no real explanation to even backup that statement. By that logic, God of War III would've been just as bad because it actually offers no real story, just chaos and a bad memory for Kratos that will stalk him until God Of War Valhalla. But its still not low tier because it's still good, and the lack of story doesn't actually make it bad. Just like how releasing a prequel after everything shouldn't make a game bad. Goddamn, I'm actually getting heated. Anyway, people have their opinions and I have mine. God Of War Ascension is a flawed game, but I really don't care what people think because I'd say it's just as good as God Of War III and Chains Of Olympus which should be at least in Spartan Tier and on Par with Ghost Of Sparta.

@@zoobungaa No, I know you didn't. But then again, I don't know if you're probably just saying that to say what I wanna hear, so who knows at this point. Either way, its understandable why people would still consider Ascension as the worst one, and I can never really blame you for it, but some of the reasons for the hate are just petty and just really shows everyone were expecting so much more, when they should've expected less. And people still keep disliking the game for the same stupid reasons, it's just tiring at this point. At least I can agree the plot is a mess, but it's still good enough for me to actually understand what's happening, and the plot wasn't entirely pointless. If Ascension didn't exist, I don't even know how the franchise would transition from Kratos killing his family, to immediately starting on Chains of Olympus. Ascension didn't exactly have a main goal besides Kratos trying to escape the Furies and the illusions, but the whole point was to show where Kratos left off after he had just become the Ghost of Sparta after killing his family, and when you look at it as the first part of the Greek Saga, it's actually not a bad start to the franchise, not too many going on, and Kratos has yet to have a goal until the end of the game which then leads to the future God Of War Games as the story unfolds with Kratos now going after its real goal of getting his revenge against Ares, but not without an obstacle on the way, with Helios needing Kratos's help. That's most of what I could say about it.

@@zoobungaa Well, now that you mention it, as much as I respect you for your response, I still feel like sometimes, the people who actually hate games from popular franchises like Ascension, more or less are the ones who are coming up with better points and facts about the flaws and truth about a game. So even though it's nice more people are starting to like Ascension now, there's a chance that they'll still be seen as just consumers who consume everything the companies give them according to the eyes of some unique people, like how they can be seen as people who consider Ragnarok as a masterpiece, and criticizers will come up with really long and well-thought out videos just to prove them wrong. Anyway, I don't want you to waste time on me anymore, I just want to express what has been on mind lately. Thanks for listening tho, I still respect your efforts in making your videos even though I do somewhat disagree because I still appreciate games like Ascension despite its imperfections unlike most people. But I'd argue people can have disagreements, and still respect one another. And that's exactly what I've been going through lately, just struggling with opinions at the moment, but I'm trying to handle myself better with a leash to be more calm and understanding on people's thoughts rather than being triggered all the time. Tbh, I don't even know how you people do it with managing yourselves better with your friendly accepting reaction towards controversial opinions. Well, I guess I do have anger issues, so I guess that makes it harder for me. Thanks again for being respectful though. Anything that came out since 2018 cannot be above anything prior to that. That's the reality of the situation. 2018 is mortal, and ragnarok is death basically. 2018 being the beginning of death pretty much. Now if ragnarok never happened, 2018 wouldn't fall that bad, but since it's a continuation, it absolutely sucks now. Putting ragnarok at the same level as 1 or 2 is laughable. And ascension is way better than 2018 or ragnarok. Simply just looking at the gameplay and combat itself. They're not even in the same stratosphere. And that is pretty much what it boils down to. New gow does not hold a candle to any previous game as far as combat is concerned. And story is pg and pc, which again cannot really compete with the previous games. Cause it's gow of censorship. And disney. Also 10s and 20s so far being the worst decades in cinema history, and in narrative history, I cannot really see 2018 and ragnarok at all being relevant in the future. I feel like more people will realize what they were as the time passes. When these shackles of global censorship drop. It will just be a shitty reminder of the shitty times of the past.

I'm sorry but I need to vent. TLDR: I fucking hate the Norse games(Ragnarok more the 2018)and I think they're typical AAA garbage, and an insult to God Of War. I'm most likely in the minority here, but I fucking hate Ragnarok, and I only tolerate GOW 2018. I do not think they're masterpieces at all, and I hardly consider them actual God of War games. The gameplay in those games are just way too safe and is just the homogenized typical AAA gaming gameplay and combat that plauges this industry to me. GOW 2018 was touted as "revolutionary" in the action game genre when God Hand already did what it did better on the PS2. These are the typical AAA movie games that plague the modern day gaming industry, especially in the western sphere, and people call them masterpieces? The gameplay and combat is so bare bones when you compare it to the real God of War games from before. And there are barely any new abilities, or weapons, and what is in the game is just uninteresting to decent at best or locked behind a skill tree. Because every AAA game needs a fucking skill tree and tacked on rpg mechanics. Plus the armor and loot system is just...why?? I eviscerated the entire Greek pantheon shirtless, now I need armor just to fight some ice men? And why can't I jump anymore? Pointless and needless regressions. Also, idk if it's just me, but does it seem like they have toned down the violence a TON in those two games? Where's the gore, and over the top blood? Or the fun and silly mini games? Replaced with boring walking sections? If I wanted a walking simulator I would play Death Stranding, and I actually love that game. But I'm not playing God of War to play Death Stranding, I'm playing God of War to play God of War. These games are not God of War. And the boss fights are just neutered to hell and back. The only ones I actually enjoyed or thought were any good was the first fight against Baldur in 2018, and against Heimdal in Ragnarok. And also Nidhogg but only because it reminded me of fighting the hydra. The story is mainly the thing people tout about these games and in 2018, yeah. The story in that game is pretty good, especially the Blades of Chaos reveal, that shit had me smiling, even though it was the only moment in the story that made me smile. The story in GOW 2018 is the only reason why I finished that game. But ffs they were NOT cooking in Ragnarok, it was so unfocused, and so fucking boring. And Atreaus is so unbelievably *insufferable.* Atreaus is so SO fucking annoying, and his gameplay sucks ass. It was actually fucking painful to play through Atreaus's sections. I have more to say about Ragnarok and its shit excuse of a story and gameplay but if I kept typing I would be here all day, and this comment is long enough. All in all if anybody reading this likes these two games then more power to you. You like what you like. But I also hate what I hate, and I cannot for the life of me see these as nothing more than soulless reboots of a series that didn't need them. EDIT: Oh yeah, also they changed his voice actor for some fucking reason. No hate on Judge, but he's no Carson. Especially since Carson has been with this series from the very beginning, and the fact they didn't even give him a call back is fucking gross.

I’m sorry bro. But realistically how can you put Dad Of War in the same league as actual God Of War Games. God of war 4 and Ragnarok are both games that write a great narrative but don’t Actaully capture what the game was intentionally embodying. God of war says it in the title, the original games did exactly what the title disclosed and more! Kratos embodied the God Of Fvuckin War…and that’s what we were paying to experience. The games like God Of War 4 and Ragnarok use the paved story and success of previous authentic titles to garner attention and publicity…I mean who wouldn’t wanna pick up the controller and play God Of War 4 when God Of War 3 was a master piece. Let’s break down the basics. God of war is a title. The title embodies certain qualities. And within the title so does the character. As said in Ragnarok it’s not the form or something it’s it’s nature…now what is the nature of God Of War, and who is our God Of War.. The game doesn’t embody anything new other than the pre existing pre standing foundations of Kratos appearance, but works so hard to subvert and change the nature of Kratos himself …without Actaully changing the title. they still make money off the old genuine source materials appearance but change the nature of what it was embodying. I always say this, if the game only looks like the characters it is saying it’s embodying but does nothing to make you feel like the characters than it’s failed as a game… I’m sorry but realistically the only things that make this game feel like a god of war title is the caricatures of the actual pre written pre loved characters within the already good story. The games after GOW3 function only as GOW games because of the prewritten characters, they do no justice in Actaully capturing the characters… Just to make some things clear, I’ve platted both GOW 4 and Ragnarok and I like them as games, but they definitely do not embody what the original titles embodied, they embody something else but wear the skin of the success of other titles. Think about it bro, did this game Actaully make you feel like GOW ? Or just some old dad with powers and weapons being told he’s the god of war from the past…these games are like a Kratos Therapy session with powers, they do nothing but caricature pre existing pre loved stories and characters and only subvert and entertain people with fancy graphics and new and shiny gameplay mechanics and platitudes…but the game isn’t what it was, it’s a creepy little creature wearing the skin of The God Of War claiming it’s what the God Of War embodies but fails to Embody anything other than clean graphics, clean gameplay, a narrative…but nothing of the original spirit that was within the first trilogy exists. Look everyone is entitled to their opinion. But title is God Of War, try to embody it

I’m not sure why, but I liked the combat and armor systems in ragnarok better than 2018. I didn’t like that the armor in 2018 had limited upgrades; some armor had the perfect abilities for my build but maxed out at level 6 and while a level 8 armor piece had better stats, the abilities weren’t what I was looking for. I enjoy Kratos’ moveset and Atreus’ arrows better in ragnarok than 2018 as well, it feels like it flows better for my play style. And I absolutely love the addition of the spear

Used to hate 1, but the gods filled my brain with eyes, granting me the insight to finally realise that it's not only great, but my fav. Would definitely put that at the top and all I'm gonna say is, imagine 1 but remade and with 3's gameplay. You're welcome. Still holds up gameplay wise though, some combat could be cut and that'd be ok too, the greatest part of the game is the unique level design, the and the puzzles, it's almost perfectly crafted and paced. A fascinating journey of a mortal, becoming a god and the most human we've seen Kratos as, when i tell my kids about God Of War, I'm not even gonna mention Ares, I'd tell em Kratos is the god of war. I'm putting Ghost Of Sparta right next to it because of the more depth it gives to the character, gameplay wise it also slaps, thanks to the bosses and areas too, most importantly. Deimos. God of war 3 goes with them, don't even care about the story here, nor the level design, there is only 1 good puzzle but that's ok, enemy variety goes hard and the boss fights even harder. The scale of this game will never NOT be impressive. The rest are the rest. I mean 2's alright. An improvement in many ways, but insanely inconsequential to me, so it's always forgettable. Icarus wings and Zeus betrayal is great and all but they couldn't carry this game for me, i kinda got bored. Same with Chains Of Olympus which I'll put right here too. The few good scenes these games have are not worth it for me to complete and revisit these games. There's a review of God Of War 2 here by RedGuy who explains my feelings perfectly about God Of War 2. 1 is so much hype in comparison for some reason idk, objectively 2 might be but idk. Idc about Norse GOW, it's just a poor man's Bloodborne to me. Funnily enough they had an Easter egg of Bloodborne in Ragnarok, The Last Of Us 2 did a similar thing but with a Hotline Miami Easter egg. Gotta love it when devs showcase products that are superior to theirs lmao. Idk it's kinda embarrassing for me to try these games at this point, probably gonna have the same feelings i do while replaying 2 and Chains. Still wouldn't rank them lower than Ascension or Betrayal though. I mean who even cares about Betrayal. Ascension had that fix and corrupt thing? Cool. Combos ruined when you get hit? Cool. More humanity to Kratos? Very cool. Anyway Norse GOW is kinda mid to me, again the few good scenes can't save it, the one where he picks up the blades and "Do not be sorry, be better" to be exact. Fantastic. Goosebumps. Ragnarok does what Norse GOW did but better AND worse. The good is done better and the bad have been done worse, idk how they keep outdoing themselves like that,but congrats? I'm glad we're leaving this era behind us 💀 it gave us a good Matthewmatosis Case Study while it was at it. Fantastic video Valhalla kinda carries from what I've seen, for the first time with these games. I'm actually intrigued. A story that has everything to do with Kratos instead of EVERYONE else around him? Count me tf in. Mimir is also fantastic, i so hope he remains a permeant character by Kratos side

Aye bro you made some good points I can def see why the Norse games don’t hit for some of the ogs who’ve been around since the Greek days 🤝

@@zoobungaa Being an OG is an excuse that misses the point. I don't even think Matthewmatosis strongest points could be boiled down to the childish mindset of "it's different and therefore ruined" but anyway. Norse GOW again, are mid to me because they feel like (if not Bloodborne) a poor man's FromSoftware game. Call me spoiled or ignorant if you want, you'd be correct, but that doesn't change the fact that Norse GOW's kinda mid. (Aside from some excellent scenes and again, i mean. E-XCE-LLENT)

In Norse Mythology. Freyr is destined to sacrifice himself in the war of Ragnarók. Atleast in my knowledge :) i was correct! Answer and Explanation: According to Norse mythology, Freyr does die in Ragnarok at the hands of Surtr (one of the beings called jotunn). Part of the reason for Freryr's demise is that he had to give up his magical sword in order to woo his future wife, the beautiful giant Geror.

To be fair man uncharted 2 is a great game lol. God of war 2 is still my favorite in the series I'm beyond pumped for this remake or remaster for the older games that's going around. I'll never forget the my dad having to buy god of war 1. I got a gameinformer and god of war got a 10 out of 10 which was very very rare in that day. God tier game god tier series.

I actually thought the pacing for Ragnarok was amazing. Mostly because it was so good despite all the stuff they had to shove in it. I was so amazed at how good it was while still having so much go on. I think the only reason people consider it bad is because of Jotunheim and the end at Ragnarok. I personally liked the Jotunheim part because it gave us a chill break from the constant change of events to digest a little. It was a little too long of a break, though. The ending is where the pacing is messed up and rushed. We needed more time preparing for and during Ragnarok. The big battle also didn’t live up to the amazing buildup and hype throughout the game. The end after the battle was pretty much perfect, at least. So, really, I think it's just the ending that mostly ruined the pacing. Should have split Jotunheim and gave more to Ragnarok. Is this a fair assessment, or am I missing something?

@zooobunga Oh yes, I can tell you still love the game. I love it but admit that there were a few things that are disappointing. I think it's mostly those 2 parts that mess with the pacing. I found the rest of the pacing very good. I just wonder if my assessment of the pacing is accurate or if I am missing a bunch of other issues in the pacing that others have a problem with.

Nah I think you’re pretty on point plus there really is no right answer bc it’s all up to opinion you know. As long as you enjoyed the game that’s all that really matters which it sounds like you did and so did I.

@zooobunga Oh yes, I loved it. The final battle of Ragnarok does make me mad sometimes though. Only because the rest is just so good that it made that part so much more disappointing after the amazing buildup. Even though it's unlikely, I wish they would release a directors cut that fixes the final battle and adds crazy boss battles and set pieces. 😮💨

I think what killed the pacing was the reveal 1/3 into the game that Ragnarok was just the bad guys losing. We went from trying to prevent the end of the world to arguing whether of not we should press the instant win button (Gjallarhorn) over a cup of tea, all while Odin is trying to find a magic Mcguffin that we're given no compelling reason to care about.
