We do it different. All u need is digestives, a Small can of sweetened condensed milk, 3-4 tbs of cocoa powder and 200g of butter. U melt the butter and condensed milk, then add the cocoa powder ( first you need to mix it with a little bit of cold water, so it doesn’t have lumps). When the mixture is even you add the crushed cookies and let it harden in the fridge (best to leave it overnight). That’s it

Chocolate salami originated in Portugal and Italy (Sicily), then spread to pretty much all of Europe; there are many regional variations (for example, many Greeks use cognac, while Italians usually prefer Sambuca, the Portuguese sometimes add Porto etc;). There are also some traditional dishes, such as the Lithuanian tingynis, that, despite having independent origins, are similar to chocolate salami.

Andrew's right. Those McVite's biscuits (or Graham crackers for that matter) are highly addictive because they're 'not too tasty'. If a cookie is super sweet and indulging, I won't be able to eat more than 2, but if it's really boring, I'll eat the entire box.

In Germany we call this 'kalter Hund' with means 'cold dog' in English. Bc it's looking like a little dog bc of the dark and light brown.

This is also a traditional snack in Portugal. Every kindergartener learns how to make it in school. xD

I’m seeing comments that it’s a common dessert in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. In Germany it’s known as “Kalte Schnauze” (cold snout). Funny how it’s basically the same dish in all these different places!

my granma's made this for me, but it is simpler, no eggs and no chocolate, she made it with coffee and cocoa powder and melted butter
