Mimo. I absolutely hate it when people ask “when are you making a child”. When i got married me and my husband didn’t really want a child right away. We wanted to wait a few years. But people started talking about me not making a child for my husband. A few older women actually approached me and said “you need to make a baby for your husband”. I absolutely hated it. Cause they don’t know what i am going through. There are lots of women going through fertility issues (not me but i have a friend that has been married for years and she cries cause she cannot get pregnant) and can’t make a child but society keeps pressuring them to make it. Now years later me and my husband have our first child and lots of people keep saying “you need to make another one”.
@Gio_Bun

It’s frustrating on top of this, they don’t value the child when it’s here. It’s like it’s a symbol of status and not a whole person. I’m sorry you and your friend and many other women have to deal with this. You should be able to just live your life without these big expectations. I’m transmasc but even before realizing this I didn’t want kids and I still don’t. Still, I remember one time a I was asked if I had kids (after introducing myself) and another time over the phone a customer said I “sounded like a mom”. People really need to think before opening their mouths 😭

No Fr. I am the oldest and I’m starting to hear “kids” and I’m looking at them crazy like … “so who’s gonna tell them?” (I don’t want kids😭). 9 mths of pregnancy is no joke and that’s not even the hard part. It’s taking care of them for who knows how long👩🏾🦯
@riverstein7251

And potentially not even getting time to at least heal after giving birth before beginning your new lifelong responsibility of caring for a child-starting with having to feed them and change a diaper every 2 hours. Every pregnant woman I know needed stitches down there after giving birth and had to wear pads consecutively for days to weeks to stop the blood. And even with all that they immediately had to be on their feet 24/7 instead of resting like the doctor recommended. It’s even worse if you have a partner that defaults to forcing _you_ into being the one and only full time caretaker of this child regardless of how much pain you are in “because child rearing is a woman's job" or something.
@masturah711
23 күн бұрын
@@riverstein7251 this is the most *accurate* thing I’ve heard. The bleeding consecutively makes me think of the 9 months of missed period so now you’re just bleeding for weeks at a time. I so get you! People be like 'so, when are the babies coming?'. Will you come and make sure the baby doesn't wake me up in the night? Will you pay for about a 10k euros extra a child entails in costs? Will you pay for whatever I need to get done if my body gets ruined by the pregnancy? Will you take the baby if indeed, it turns out I regret having one? Will you take care of the children when I go on vacation so I can enjoy the free time without someone needing my attention eeeeeeveeeery second? More power to those who make children but it's not for everyone. There's more to life than getting pregnant and everything that entails to raise a child.

I am the same Mimo! My cousin had down syndrome, long story short. My aunt had her in '70, when my cousin was born they told my aunt, to just put the baby in a home, because she won't make it to her 1st bday. My aunt and uncle said "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!", they took her home! My cousin was 6 years older than me, so I knew her my whole life. Thankfully my children were able to experience her strength and funny ways!! Sadly, we lost her back in '06. I'll never forget that day...she had gotten out of the shower, sat on her bed, called for my aunt. She laid back, told her mom, she is tired, she just wanted to go home to Jesus and to our grandmother. The hardest thing for my aunt to say, was telling her 1st born, that it was ok, it is ok to leave. She held onto her hand as she took her last breath. She wasn't supposed to make it to her 1st bday, well she just made it to her 36th!! I miss her all the time, I think of her often, she was 100% genuine 💕💕 I guess it wasn't short...sorry lol 🥹

There are two kinds of people that also have my heart. (At least two.) Those with Down Syndrome, and those with Sanfillipo syndrome. Sanfillipo syndrome is often tagged at childhood dementia. Their life expectancy is 15 years old. They may appear to present autism or ADHD in the beginning of their life. Around three to six, they begin to regress and forget many skills. Due to their young mental age, though, they are almost always bright, bubbly, and happy.

So... I learnt that evolutionary we are made to dislike a baby crying. Research showed that the cry of a baby gives rise to anger and unrest and people feel a sudden urge to shut it up. It is, beyond other many reasons, because a crying baby easily gives away a safe spot and attracts predators or gives you away if you need to stay hidden. The little annoying humans found a way to mellow our hearts: tears. Look at a baby and see how when they cry they make tiny fists and push their eyes with them. That stimulates tears. And we tend to jump and help when we see tears and someone crying rather than when we simply hear the sound of crying. Babies instinctually 'manipulate' those around them as their tantrums and cries are basically cute and heartbreaking only towards their parents. Others would otherwise very much prefer to not be eaten by a tiger because your offspring started crying. 😅
