So I actually found the reddit post from 11 months ago proposing Mississippi River as a brew, and it's called Mississippi River for two reasons: 1. The constant cascades cause the entire deck to play out in a large branching stack, like a river 2. The creator thought the name "Mississippi River" sounded "card gamey"

@@MTGGoldfishIf you want cool decks that can compete it’s def the best format, but the best thing imo about Against the Odds in other formats is that it’s usually reasonable to actually get and play the deck yourself. @jackl8025

Grapeshot is a sorcery. Brain Freeze might do it if Emrakul is already in play (cant mill out with it in the library) and a bounce spell on a Maelstrom, drawing to an empty library on the Emmy extra turn. There might be an argument that Weather the Storm, Wing Shards, Hindering Touch or Hunting Pack could answer the hasty board. But those might win anyway, regardless of Seth running up storm count, and I don't even know the likelihood of seeing any of those cards. Quicken + Grapeshot could do it but that seems niche too

Round 1, Game 1 was so sad. You just had them on turn 3 and they accidentally bluffed into the win. Teaching moment for Magic players - combo decks usually will not cast their protection/disruption spells until the turn they go off, as firing them early leaves open the possibility of the opponent drawing another card to stop them. This does not mean your Storm opponent is holding open a counterspell, it means they can't go off yet. Also, this deck is ridiculous bullshit and I love how stupid it is.

44:24 Boarding party wasn't the right card to bottom there. I think with the deck during mulligans the priory for bottoming cards is Emrakul then Wanderer, then Creative Technique. You need Emrakul and Wanderer to be hits in the deck, and you want one of your 6 drop cascades to start the combo, unless you drew a technique, then you start with that. The goal is to dig as deep as possible, make sure you have as many chances of getting your haste or extra turn, playing boarding party here gives you six chances, it's possible to only hit 6 drop cascaders with that not apex, wanderer or emrakul - makes it the riskier playa (particularly if they can counter some of your chances)
