Felt so sorry for you Anna. I guess it's hit you harder because you're so sociable! I just keep running every day, a minimum of 5km a day. I want to get up at sunrise next year on the longest day and go to bed at sunset! Not sure I could do this one though.

I tried it a few days ago, didn't even know about the challenge. Completed 10am til 9pm which is 12 runs doing between 1km-1m. Wasn't too hard but kinda inconvenient as once you get back home you can relax for about 40-45 mins and back out :D Also did it on the hour every hour too.

When I first saw Beau's video a few months ago I thought, "I'm going to do that!" I haven't yet and I'm glad to have been reminded of it. My circumstances have changed in the last few weeks, I'm spending much more time alone and sometimes finding it harder to "see the potential of a day." I also really identify with what you said about "choice paralysis," this will be a great idea to try out when I have one of those full days on my own. I've already picked a day and put it in my calendar. Really timely, thank you Anna, and well done!

Well done!! Crazy!!! I would find that hell. Funnily enough, I just finished reading, "Pedestrianism" by Matthew Algeo this week. It was a huge sport for a few decades in the 1800s. Ada Anderson did 2,700 quarter miles in 2,700 quarter hours at the end of 1878. I think she didn't take Sunday off, but other walkers did. Around the same time, Peter Van Ness tried to do 2,000 half miles in 2,000 half hours. 1,718 half miles in, he got a gun and shot his trainer (hit his arm) when he tried to make him carry on. The Police let him carry on instead of arresting him. In 1907, at 61, Dan O'Leary did 1,000 miles in 1,000 consecutive hours. The health risks to people doing such truly insane things were fully apparent in how they looked and acted, and it seems to have been a pretty grim spectacle at a lot of events. Personally, I would have needed 24 hours just to put the tent up!!

Brilliant. Well done, Anna. What a great idea. I did a virtual event called P24 - The longest day. Participants had to run the minimum distance of 1 mile, on the stoke of each hour, for 24 hours. Running just before, and after the hour to gain more recovery time was strictly forbidden. Each run had to be logged on their facebook page to make sure there was no cheating. I ran 5k for 17 of the 24 hours and managed 65.9 miles in total. Thought it wouldn't be easy but it was actually much tougher than expected. I'd finish a run knowing there wasn't much recovery time before the next run had to be started. I vowed 'never to do this event again' but time is a great healer so I might enter again. Well done once again and keep up the awesome work.

Congratulation Anna I’m actually thinking of trying the challenge in a few weeks ( just have to get it planned ), and thanks for reminding me about a tent I actually haven’t thought of that. And true the challenge is tough even that it’s just a mile every hour, but people forget that it’s tough specially because you get all those breaks so it’s harder to keep you warmed up all the time and keeping the rhythm/flow and ofc also tough on the energy front

As a mom of 4 (ages 8, 5, 4, and 13 months) I LOVE the quote at the end. There is certainly enough hours in the day to get everything done, so long as you make the time for them. I once said to someone how I buy chicken on the bone because I then use the bones to make stock for soup etc. They replied back with 'how on earth do you find the time to do all of that, I barely have the time to open a box of chicken fingers for dinner!'. My response was 'I don't find the time to do those things, I MAKE the time to do them!' My husband and I recently started a running group in our area of town that had no running group (there are lots, just all on the other end of the city and we were getting tired of driving 20km+ to go running with a group). The amount of feedback and turn out (20+ people every night) we've had has been amazing! SO many people telling us that they had been looking for a run group in our area - but my question is this, why did it take a busy couple with 4 kids to start a run group, when everyone who has come out has wanted this so badly as well? If you make the time to do the things you want to do -- it will always happen. Thank you for this video. I'm really inspired to try this!

Thanks for sharing this grueling exercise with the world. I know that I watched it with rapt attention and rejoiced with your every win, every checked box, every running session completed! You showed us the possible & completed the improbable! Jolly good! (as I imagine your country mates might say)! A wonderful experiment: thanks so much!!!

Thanks for this and well done for completing the challenge. I watched the Beau Miles video a few years back and was immediately inspired to try the same. Sadly (or perhaps luckily) minor setbacks on several occasions meant I had to bale out before even starting, so I never got around to it. I'd always thought a mile every hour would be easy, but your experience suggests I was significantly under estimating the challenge. Perhaps I'll try a 12 hour stint first!

When I did this challenge in 2012 the sole 'job' I completed during it was getting my hair cut.

Super inspiring! Not sure my knees would take a full 24 hours, but maybe 13 one day this summer. How did you fit in eating? I think I’d feel rubbish if I ran, then ate, the ran again!

40 minutes until my last run of this challenge. I started at 8 pm yesterday so definitely more tired since I got up at 6am that morning. Definitely as challenging as Goggins 4x4x48 which I did last year. You cannot sleep with this challenge as not enough time and if you do you will feel even worse.

Thanks for the inspiration! I did this with my neighbour here in Leipzig, Germany last weekend. We started at 4am. I found the time between zipped by too quickly and jobs stretched out over several between times. Still, I now have clean windows and no weeds in front of my house. The last hours were tough with regard to sleepiness and stiffness.
