You can't copyright a game concept. Think about how many baseball, basketball, football or hockey games there are. Anyone can create their own baseball game or side scroller game, even if it has the same feel as another game. But you CAN copyright the code and art it self so you can't just take someone's game, change a few sprites and sell it as something different or you can't use Mario or Mega man characters in your game regardless if you drew them your self or have them doing something completely different.

The only game on this series that I played is Conflict. I LOVE this game. It became my homework game. I set my battles for the computer to fight for me, since I learned from watching the computer play. I put my units where I need them to go, then while the enemy moves, I do my homework. When they are finished moving, I repeat what I did. When the computer attacks, my troops already know what to do, so I continue with my homework. When I first played this, it was a rental with no instructions. I played all night with my bro as we went through it and through it. That very night I had a dream that I was a pilot of a fighter jet. My co-pilot was scared as an enemy fighter was keeping up with us. As my co-pilot started to panic, he made me nervous. So nervous in fact that I woke up in the middle of the night with a nervous stomach that I had to run to the bathroom to puke. No joke, this truly happened. Lol. First game to come into my dream and scare the crap out of me. Lol. I then bought the game direct from the owner of the video store for $10. I still have it to this day.

When I was a kid (I was like 6 ) I remember my aunt bought "The Krion Conquest" to my female cousin because they saw there was some sort of princess on the box of the game so they assumed it was a game for girls. Of course the game is brutally difficult and my cousin couldn't pass further than a couple of screens, so they bought her "The Little Mermaid" instead and they just gave me this game, my aunt was like "here. you can have this game". Kid Kool does have some really rough gameplay mechanics but I never felt that it was as awful as most people think. I agree with you on the Golgo 13 games too! Def. an underrated shooter in my opinion-. I'd probably put it up as a B and not a C honestly. it was catchy, difficult, and better than some shooters in it's 'class' in my opinion... maybe a bigger undertaking, but what about eventually ranking genres of games against each other same as you are now? Golgo 13 is one of my favorites on the console. I think B is the right rating. It's definitely very clunky and not for everyone. But it has so much personality, and a great variety of gameplay types. None of them on their own is worth much, but having them all together is pretty awesome. My favorite part is the 1st person maze. Thr manual actually has all of the maps drawn out, but I got it second hand and sonI would draw the maps myself, and that's a big reason I really enjoyed it. Same with the original Metroid, the navigational challenge of drawing the maps by hand and/or slowly learning them as you explore is really the most important aspect of the game.

Couldn't agree more with Clash at Demonhead. I always felt it was kinda similar to the Monster Land/World series on the Master System and Genesis. It's a very underrated game, and a ton of fun if you can forgive it for some of the quality-of-life issues it has.

I always called it Top Secret Episode cause, you know, the giant text across the box and cartridge. I was and still am completely unaware of the universe of Golgo 13 and didn't even know there was a sequel til it was mentioned in this video. What I do remember was a hell of a lot of talking in a story I probably didn't understand too well as a kid and a hell of a lot of map drawing to figure out the mazes before I finally beat that game.

I remember getting Top Secret Mission because it was in the bargain bin for my birthday. I was surprised I beat it because I was super young and didn’t realize the adult themes. Definitely a great game

I've tried playing Krion Konquest a few times but I just can't. It's like Mega Man if Mega Man was terrible. Just awful level design in the first stage already, and I can't get over it.

The best miltary type strategy game that was done right. Herzog zweii for the genesis. Better than military madness. Simpler and someways better thsn command and conquer.

Even if you don't like the genre Conflict is not an F. It's a polished and very playable cold war strategy game.

Well how you got to that rank for conflict it is not that way i would do it. I would have put it there because having family in the military i known the roles of the equipment used in the game. Not even close real life so I could never get in to. I owned the game and never played it after a week trying to figure it out. I know you rank Desert Commander low because it not your cup of tea. But at least it worked like the real life equipment that was used in the of ww2. As for Milltary Madness equipment based on ww2 as well but dressed up as on the moon landscape. I would rank it lower because like said I had family in the Milltary and I know how the equipment is should work and on the moon It just left me kinda disconnected to whole thing.

Clash at Demonhead is a B for me at the most. It's really neat, but I got stuck and having to put in a massive password every time I wanted to give it another shot got too tedious. Krion Conquest is a C for me. It's cute, but the jump mechanics kind of suck. A bit too frustrating to me, but I might give it another shot.
