Ian Thornley is THE MAN! What a singer, slide player, soloist, song writer, rhythm, on and on. Wow. I hope John Suhr is right about the USA knowing who he is really soon.

Chris Lester Five years later and Ian is a Suhr endorser! My interest in Big Wreck really began when he stole my drummer, Chuck Keeping right out of the club I owned, The Other Side of Five. Chuck played in my house band for a couple of years and it was clear that he was destined for the big league. Ian is a monster guitarist and a very cool, intelligent guy. Chuck couldn’t of picked a better guy to work for. P.S. I’m waiting for my first Suhr guitar to arrive at my house - been ordered for two months.

For what it's worth, I'm from the US, and have been listening to Big Wreck/Thornley since the Pleasure & the Greed. Whatever style Ian's playing, the riffs are so creative and amazing. It's incredible that this band isn't huge. I wish they'd play the U.S. so I could see them live.

Awesome! They're not that big here either. That being said, got to see them at an annual, local rock fest and to hear that guitar sound, blasted in my face, was very satisfying.

If you like big guitar sounds, check out Big Sugar, Hemi Vision. Loud Traynor amps, with Gordie Johnson plugged in to them. Large.

Easily Canada's most under-appreciated musician. I've been a fan since the mid 90's, even pre-Loving Memory when I was lucky enough to catch ear of a few tunes. Ian's knowledge of what a guitar can do, how to play with that sound and as the video shows, his gadget geekiness is beyond reproach and gives the listener an earful of pleasure. I've seen him numerous times but no time was better than Central City Brewing in 05? 06? With talent such as his and that of those he's surrounded by, it's shocking that his name isn't better known and also consistently on lists of the world's best guitarists.

Saw this band at The Note in April (I think). Hadn't heard of them before Jan 2013. Fabulous. The guy can groove on the GEE-TAR. Such a great show. Am also wondering about why they haven't caught on before now. Love IAN. Love BIG WRECK.

When they played here in Montreal in May, they had an excellent sound at Club Soda. Simply amazing. When they played at the NASCAR thing in August outdoors, the sound guys really fucked it up good. I was standing right behind the sound board and was shocked at what I was hearing. They need top notch soundpeople, that is for sure!

I've been consistently blown away by Ian Thornley's music since i first heard BW in 1997.. i cant understand why the general public seems to choose hamburger over steak.. but oh well :-/ I think Ian will have a bigger impact in the long run versus the flash in the pan, fast food music that's out there.

A secret? No lie-re: Soldano. -the Epiphone BC 30 (Under 700 bux) is a Soldano designed box. 2x12 15 Watts A class, 30 A/B class. Serious crunch for cheap. Ian's expression of "Don't ask, cuz it's workin' TODAY is pretty much it. I'm with EADZB4ME on why the people don't get it. This is the ONLY band that satisfies with the legendary LZ crunch. Now that Chuck is in the band, I think there's a passive focus that may not have been there before. Go get 'em, guys. The best is yet to come.

These guys simply need to find a way to tour with professional sound crews! Open up for some big name classic rock/blues, prog rock or hard rock acts. I'm tired of hearing these guys in crappy studios and clubs. Their sound and gear is just begging for larger amphs and arenas!
