What a fun video! When I think about it, this franken ramen makes some sense! The ice cream makes the savory broth creamier and the presence of spice helps offset the added sweetness, and even the cone I think can be compared to "fu" , dehydrated wheat gluten that is sometimes added into miso soup, so the person at the original restaurant who thought of this is a genius haha, now I want to try it!

I miss these videos being filmed in your home. I know for practicality it must have made way more sense to move it into a studio, but I used to be dedicated to every video and then just found myself losing interest sadly. Still subscribed but haven’t clicked on a video in ages until today. Hard to put my finger on it, but I think when in your home it felt more genuine and in the studio it feels like content being cranked out. Still same lovable host, but different vibe. Curious if anyone else feels this way. Maybe if the set felt more like a home?? Maybe it’s just me!

GREEN ONION HACK (for longer term storage): Chop them up However you usually do it, put them in an empty and dry water bottle and put it in the freezer. Then whenever you need some, you just shake the onions out of the bottle. It's so convenient. It is a little annoying getting the onions IN to the bottle though. 😅

As one who was taught Italian style cooking, I was always taught that hot noodles get rinsed with hot water, while noodles intended for cold dishes get rinsed in cold water. However, I find that cooking in ways that bring enjoyment to the tastebuds are best.
@edwardhisse2687
2 жыл бұрын
If you were trained in italian style cooking, the first thing that comes to mind is that you used italian style pasta noodles. I doubt they're identical or even similar to ramen dried noodles.
@jennigthatonecrazydoglady8100
2 жыл бұрын
Typically, in Italian cooking, we don’t rinse noodles intended to be eaten hot. We want to keep all that lovely salty starchiness as it helps sauces cling and provides almost a creaminess without the cream. We also save pasta water just before straining the noodles so we can add some of that “liquid gold” back into the finished dish if needed to loosen up a sauce or help emulsify things. But that said, that’s just what’s typically done. You do what you find yummy! :)

I love your first impression of tasting ramen with soft ice cream. But, for me, it's meh. I love eating ice cream and ramen separately. I like the idea of combination of ramen and dairy (milk) gives rich and flavorful. But, For giving very cold ramen, I dunk ice cubes into ramen, so they give very cold and lower the steaming hot on ramen in it.....
