One of my favourite bands. Have been lucky enough to see they a few times over here in Oz. They never fail to put on a great show. Thoroughly polished and professional. So many great tracks including this one. Fantastic! Other faves of mine. Hey Little Girl, Crazy, My Obsession and Great Southern Land.

Icehouse were one of Australia's most prominent bands in the 80s, probably the best new wavers, heavily Bowie influenced. Electric Blue arguably falls into the bracket of an Aussie anthem. I believe co-writer John Oates of Hall & Oates told them "use it or lose it" A much loved, unapologetic Pop song from a Band who were generally a little more "artsy" in content.

They used to be known as Flowers. Hey Little Girl by Icehouse and Can't Help Myself by Flowers are both excellent songs. I'd love to see you review them Empress.

***ICEHOUSE TRIVIA TIME!!*** ...Empress, EVERYONE had that hair, don't laugh... (0:57)... - ...Oh this will be a JOY to give trivia on! ...Icehouse was LOOOOONGTIME known Australian Rock Band, that were doing VERY well in their country, but slightly unknown, here....that changed, when their 1987 "Man Of Colours" Album was released..... - ...this tune, was the 2nd single (following up the #18 Pop "Crazy"); but THIS tune was (mostly) written by JOHN OATES (of Hall & Oates)....he got the idea for the title, after seeing a (topless) chick with 'Electric' eyes, and "Electric Blue" was created.....It hit #7 Pop (May 1988), and hit #1 in Australia..... I would give the charts, but I'm away right now, and not near my Books......sorry.... (4:57) ... *EDIT* ...I had to change my trivia because I can't find documentation of the REAL reason John wrote "Electric Blue" (I was told this info back in 1988), so I'll just change it .....this is RARE for me, Kids...

Love you rock’n away to this song. Yes, it is pure 80s. Yes, it still is a killer song. And maybe, just maybe I might grow my hair out like that, again. :-)

80s song all the way. Sounds like it belongs in a soundtrack, nice and cheesy. 80s big hair and before everyone got into their dental.
