- The Gran Via: It is a street in central Madrid. It is 1.3 km (0.81 mi) long . It is one of the city's most important shopping areas, with a large number of hotels and large movie theatres; however, since the late 2000s, many of these theatres have been replaced by shopping centres.
- The Plaza de Cibeles: It is a square with a neo-classical complex of marble sculptures with fountains that has become a symbol for the city of Madrid. It sits at the intersection of Calle de Alcalá (running from east to west), Paseo de Recoletos (to the North) and Paseo del Prado (to the south). Plaza de Cibeles was originally named Plaza de Madrid, but in 1900, the City Council named it Plaza de Castelar, which was eventually replaced by its current name. It is currently delimited by four prominent buildings: the Bank of Spain Building, the Palacio de Buenavista, the Palace of Linares ("Palacio de Linares"), and the Cybele Palace ("Palacio de Cibeles"). These constructions are located in four different neighbourhoods from three different adjacent districts: Centro, Retiro, and Salamanca. Over the years, Cybele Palace and her fountain have become symbolic monuments of the city.
- The Puerta de Alcalá: This is one of the most well-known monuments in Madrid. Built between 1769 and 1778 under the orders of King Carlos III, it was designed by the Italian Francisco Sabatini and erected as a triumphal arch to celebrate the arrival of the monarch at the capital. The granite gate is 19.5 metres tall. The façade features a number of decorative elements with groups of sculptures, capitals, reliefs and masks, among others. It was once one of the five doors used to enter the walled city of Madrid. It is situated next to El Retiro Park.
- El Retiro Park: It is one of the largest parks of the city of Madrid, Spain. It was created in 1680. The park belonged to the Spanish Monarchy until the late 19th century, when it became a public park. It is a 1.4 km2 (350 acres) park at the edge of the city centre. In its grounds are gardens, statues and other monuments, galleries, an artificial lake, and venues which host a variety of events. The park is entirely surrounded by the present-day city. In 2021, The Park became part of a combined UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- The Palacio de Cristal (Glass Palace): It is a 19th century conservatory located in the Buen Retiro Park in Madrid, Spain. It was built in 1887. It is currently used for art exhibitions. It is in the shape of a Greek cross, is made almost entirely of glass set in an iron framework on a brick base, which is decorated with ceramics. Its cupola makes the structure over 22 metres high.
