It lasted nine years that is considered good nowadays. Here in San Francisco a lot of the original buildings built in the late 1940s and early 50s all still have their original blower motors. I still have one left in one of my houses from Westinghouse with ball bearings and oil wick channels to oil the bearings the mid 50s working to this day. Just think of it in perspective nowadays we call nine years long for mechanical items.

I greatly appreciate, and commend your work ethic, follow through, and effort to always leave the customer in a better position, than they were before the failure/event occurred. Eighteen years partnered in a Carrier dealership, taught me that it's the little stuff that counts. Many times, we would have interactions with customers which had absolutely nothing to do with the HVACR business, and those interactions ALWAYS ended in a pleasant note. (not to mention, friends/family/neighbor, and co-worker referrals which added up) Word of mouth is always the most effective method of advertising. BTW, that blower motor was "locked up tighter than a buzzard's a _ _ in a power dive"....

Especially considering we use air conditioning 10+ months a year in the South. It looks like someone cleans their air handler and even polishes all the metal and dust off the wires.

I really enjoy your videos mostly to watch a man who loves his work and has a very funny demeanor. As far as the quest to stop people working on there hvac equipment I really dont see that as a issue in my small world here in florida most people in there 30s and young outside of a trade dont know the right end of a screwdriver. So until they start adding usb ports on furnances I dont see diy hvac as a problem. I really like your shop with all the old electonics you should get some videos up of that stuff. I also think you should get some afflitate links for the products you use like the shrink tube with soldier in them. I never knew they existed and as soon as i saw you use them I ordered some. I have so many times could have used them. Thanks for Reading!

I watch all your videos because I try to understand HVAC guys and their trade. I am a Journeyman eletrician and I have issues with some questionable work with some plumbers and HVAC trades on jobs. 2 weeks ago they used an old fuseable pullout with CLOTH wiring to hook up a new system. I had to go back and update the panel and the pull out after the general contractor called me. (I was rewiring the kitchen and removing the cloth wiring there, remodel). Only issue they did that a month before I got there, and I found arc marks all over the main panel where they reused the old wire and cut the cloth insulation (it's easy to do with that stuff). Why not tell the contractor to get his Eletrician to hook up the fuseable panel/breaker????? That's our job according to NEC codes... DOES EVERYONE IN THIS TRADE HOOK UP THE FUSEABLES/ SHUTOFFS to the panels themselves? I can look up the article I believe it's in 410.3 I've seen it done almost 85% of jobs I go on with different HVAC businesses.

If we have to pull a new feed from the panel to the service disconnect, we usually have our electrician do it. If we are using the existing wire but changing the disconnect, we do it.

They use two different sized screws because the ICP design engineer is not doing their job. Making the unit easier and faster to assemble is their job. This sloppy design work in costing ICP money.
