HUH? Bro they're kids. I got tripped up and punched in the forehead multiple times in a fight as a kid and my parents would have never thought to press charges. Banning him from competing and maybe some disciplinary action at his school is enough. Y'all gotta chill. I punched a kid in the face and he had a black eye for weeks. My parents disciplined me and the other kids parents just talked to me for a bit about why and we all moved on. Hell, I was even friends with him in the later years of HS. I get it if it's something that starts happening more than once maybe but some one off punch of a kid doesn't need assault charges.

Only a year of suspension??? I could only imagine how I would feel if this were my son not doing anything wrong, just trying to shake the hand of his opponent and then BAM.. he gets punched in the face because the other kid can’t take a loss. He clearly has a habit of getting away with bad behavior to be so BOLD to do this in a room of not only children, but adults as well. He simply just doesn’t care. A more serious action needs to be taken in order for him to learn his lesson. Props to the young man for being so mature. His family is doing a great job of raising him.
