I rewatched the first season and seeing the scenes with Bodie and Wallace again Bodie actually seemed to like Wallace most of the time. I think Bodie is just being like that with him in that scene to try to reassure himself about what he's about to do. Doing what his bosses tells him to like a lap dog doesn't make Bodie a man. Wallace looking after those kids made him a man.

@@jakeboudreau4512 see this is what I love about this show.. it brings so many different perspectives onto the street life. You have those who just watch, then you have those who love to contemplate and all this and that and whatever the fuck, talm bout stuff like this, then you gott niggas in the street who like this shit cuz this shit is G. But from a person - sure I’ll take the position of all three cuz why not.. from a person with a blended perspective, and lifestyle to be honest, these characters play well, and the acting is so good, mainly because these actors portray themselves as the actual characters On the stage or set or whatever, There isn’t a J.D. Williams, there’s a Bodie Broadus, there’s no Michael B Jordan, there’s Wallace. No Tray Chaney, just Poot. Props to the actors, cuz in some form of reality, they know this. However in the street, where there’s no acting, there’s nobody to not be. Unless they’re fake but we’ll skip that (acthards). In the street, whether they choose to call themselves a gang or posse, niggas o Vatos, brothers or cousins or bloods and crips,, there is simply them. They don’t think of this shit, as they just live how they get it, there’s no, I’m not a man because I do this and that, there’s usually no time to think of that, if you’re out there like that, how the show portrays these characters. In reality Bodie would never think that he’s not a man simply cuz he pushes for String. Practically working for him, works for Bodie, as it’s not serving a boss’s orders, it’s his big homie who put him on, or whatever the case maybe. There’s no alternates. Ofc Bodie has to do shit for his big homie to pay him back inna sense and on top of that it’s street justice. A rat is a rat in the street, no ifs ands or butts about it. That’s why this shows great. It shows the reality of the street. These niggas out here don’t even think of themselves in that sense (in most cases) they just themselves. It’s not a street life, it’s their life. There usually is no other type of life for them. Speaking on this I lost a friend a few hours back. Shits trife. LLD

At this point, Bodie knows he has to kill Wallace & is trying to find reason to justify doing so by using his youthfulness as weakness. Wallace cements this by responding with "you ain't gotta be hard all the time" when in fact you do have to be hard at all times in the game.

It’s about being discerning of the moments and people you can afford to be real with. But in this case Bodie used it as an excuse to kill Wallace because they didn’t see the game the same way and that was enough reason for him.

The main Part of this Scene is when Wallace says "I'm a Man". But the Contrast between him and Bodie, there are Diffrent meanings they have to "Being a Man". With Wallace, he feels like he's a Man because he's looking out for other Abandoned kids on the Block. Feeding them, Clothing them, Helping with their homework, making sure The Roof over all of their heads are good enough so they all don't end up in a Group Home. For Bodie, he's a Man because he's matured beyond his years. Grew up hardened and Tough in the Streets, He sells Drugs, He gets in fights, He gets roughed up by the Herc and Carvers of the World Day in and out. He has survived the Shortcomings of life. And because of that, he feels like he is solidified in his Male-like Status. To both of them, they feel like they are Men, but for completely diffrent reasons. And Wallace's Death later on make this scene that much more heartbreaking

He knew this before. Hell, even kids in the high school season admitted they knew they'd be dead in a few years. Some had thoughts of being a boss. But the idea of death remains. Its not too uncommon behavior for those in war zones. Increased violence and abuse. Why work towards a future, when its highly possible it'll be stolen from you on any given day. Many scots and brits had this mentality when they moved to america. Particularly the south. Which is why northerners despised southerners even before race was even taken into account.

His problem was he was too hot headed and had no flex. He talked shit when he first met Cutty even though Cutty was a well known and respected soldier. He refused to do what was needed to do. He built up an offbrand corner into something profitable, but with no muscle Marlo took that from him. Had he tried to be a leader or moved on to another boss when the Barksdale organization was decimated he could have been like Slim. A pawn making it to the other side to become a Queen.

Frank Sobotka didn't see it coming, he wasn't a real gangster and was naïve to the situation he put himself in, and I remember they said he had defense wounds which means he put up a fight. It seemed like bodie was just tired of everything and didn't care, like when omar came up on slim Charles, and slim was just completely ready to die. the game just numbs people over time and death becomes more appealing than life for some.
