I did / had this for 12 years. The following is one of the realizations that helped me the most: Accept it is there, do not push it away but give it a hug. Always be kind to yourself. And I mean the voice in your head, how you treat yourself, how you talk to yourself. Everyone knows how they want to be treated by others but many treat themselves like shit. Doesn't make sense, right? Start with this simple thought, think it through for yourself, really explore it logically, take your time. I think you have to find the key yourself but it is right there! Doing that is the best starting point for healing and staying healthy. At least for me it was. Hope you feel better!

"Nothing is wrong, why am I feeling bad?" is such a vicious cycle, because the more you feel guilty for "not having a reason to feel bad", the worse it becomes - and it hits at random times, especially if you're feeling burnt out. Take a nice break from everything, take some much needed time to just rest up and recover, and just heal up, you deserve it! And most importantly: make sure you don't feel guilty about taking the break! You deserve it

Agreed, I battle with this from time to time. Your body is telling you to focus on you for a bit and you're not listening. As a parent of 2 teenagers involved in numerous sports that I coach, a job that has me working more hours than I'd like sometimes, a hobby farm that never ceases to have something to work on, etc., it all takes away from me and it usually catches up to me all at once. It's known as 'burning the candle from both ends'. Take some time for just YOU, turn off the phone and actually take some time to rest. Good luck!

Its mental issue, same as anxiety and its linked to it, you got all you need in life, roof over head, food, hobby, your family is ok, you got friends to hang out with, but you still feel depressed, and sometimes alone. Sometimes maybe its because unhealthy food we eat, it has great influence on anxiety and depression. Also, modern lifestyle can be sometimes very exhausting, i myself feel sometimes moving to woods and live in cabin from land and fishing, with no influence from modern technology. To comprehend what person needs to adapt in modern society, technology skyrocketed in last 100 years, and its more and more crawled into person skin that it is required to function in society- like how would you interact with friends or at work if you dont have your phone or some sort of social media.

As someone who has had ME/CFS for 20+ years I was going to say some similar things, if you do not hit certain lifestyle markers its inevitable you are going to have issues, especially if your environment is very tech heavy and you barely see sunlight. Grounding and getting sunlight these days is almost mandatory to counter tech use and all the excessive blue light, also necessary to have a healthy circadian rhythm, and get Vit D up naturally. He also needs to stop eating complete sht, he basically has access to some of the best seafood the world up there I imagine, just going low carb higher protein on quality meats can make a big difference. Funny all the comments around psychology, its almost a guarantee in his situation it is all mostly environmental and lack of physical engagement, parts of your brain with just atrophy if you don't get exercise of some sort too.

After a few injections to get it back to normal i felt so much better i didn't know i could even feel as good as i did/do now. I take a couple shots a week now to maintain a normal level and it's been life changing for me.(No meme intended) I'm 36 and had no idea men at my age could be affected by it so drastically. Not even one beer on a saturday. 0. Nothing. Start sports. Daily (or 5x a week). Doesn't have to be hardcore psycho workouts. Just something that gets your heart pumping and makes you feel alive. Go out in nature, disconnect from all electronics, social media and all this other "not natural" things. Get well soon, see you around.

This is excactly what I wanted to write. I struggled with depression too. Best advise: Get a sixpack. If you still struggle with depression then, I guess you should consider seeing a therapist, but for 95% of people getting the sixpack will cure the depression. Also, always finish your shower with a few minutes of cold water. Believe me, it helps a lot. If you don't have struggle in your life, your mind will create it. Exercise and cold water creates enough struggle, that your mind doesn't need to add to it.

It takes about 2 or 3 weeks of walking and you will start feeling great and even start getting addicted to the dopamine hit of completing it. Your content since I found it for the dumpster fire that was Diablo immortal has always been sincere and heartfelt. You don't pretend to be anybody else, you don't pander to your audience, your audience exists because of who you are as a creator and person. I too struggle with depressive episodes as well. Even in times of great success where nothing is actually wrong I just feel this overwhelming despair that I can't shake sometimes. Just know you aren't alone in the struggles. I was born with an anxiety disorder that leads to depression a couple of times a year. What really helped me was trying to maintain a consistent bedtime schedule. Going to bed at a set time and not worrying too much about when you wake up; that will sort itself out eventually. Before sleeping, try to read a book for 15 minutes or engage in any non-screen activity. Staying hydrated is important as well. You should aim to drink, for example, 2.8 liters a day if you weigh 80 kilograms as a man. Walk a little bit outside for some vitamine D and take multivitamines as extra supplement. Last but not least: exercise! This helped me the most. If you exercise regularly, you'll start feeling better in the long run. Don't expect miracles after a couple of workouts, but sticking to it really pays off.

I’ve been down the PC gaming rabbit hole. 8 level 100’s within the first few months of D4’s release. Went real hard in the paint as a long time diablo player back to 1996 D1 days. Days on end in fact straight gaming. Work was slow at the time, led to many all nighters, back and forth between days and nights for weeks on end, it was super fun, but rough and taxing as well on the mind and body being sedentary too much while locked in. Best way to surface is step away from all tech completely, unplug for a few days, get out and get that sunlight, movement, fresh air, and it’s amazing how quickly it will rejuvenate the soul man. Appreciate the content you and Rax put out. Quite a few of those awesome Uber crushing builds I have came from some of your pro tips. 😉 We’re all human though, not machines brother. The body needs outdoors, exercise, movement, sunshine, breaks, and that’ll give you what you need to get back in a good zone to do what you do best, and enjoy doing. Heya Darth. Its interesting you pointed out sunshine... I grew up in Dallas, Texas in "the states". Lots of sunshine in that state. I moved to Wisconsin for nearly 30 years, it was all cool and all the snow was new and I was in my 20s. After about 15 years I began to notice how I was dreading a little more and a little more each time winter came around. Winter there lasts for 6 months on average and gray skies with not much sunshine on average. In Wisconsin currently the average completely sunny days are 90 and about 100 partly sunny days per year. In the latter 10 years I was there it got worse and worse every year when winter came and when spring came I was outside biking as much as I could and I noticed that every time I was outside in the sun and warmer weather biking, hiking and whatever I was always happier. Four years ago I moved to Austin Texas and there is so much sun that it is practically too much but I definitely learned that sunshine for me and other people in my family is definitely key to feeling better and exercise is key. I hope your will be able to tune into to whats effecting your moods.. look for patterns. SAD - seasonal effective disorder is proven to be real and if your in Alaska I wonder how much that effects you. I have basically a textbook on studies that have been done on SAD and its real.

Someone else may have said this already, but if you're not already speaking with a therapist, that may be something to consider. Your mental health is worth prioritizing. I hope Hawaii offered you some sense of recovery, but if you've a history of depression, speaking to a professional may help.

Hey there! Just wanted to give a big shoutout from me and some friends who are rooting for you. You are truly one of the most genuine KZitemrs/streamers out there. Remember to release the pressure in your own way, it's incredibly important. Even when you're doing something you love, it's essential to find a balance with other aspects of your life. It's all about finding that perfect mix. Wishing you a fantastic reset. We'll be here waiting for you for a few days with a smiley face :D Take care, my friend.

I would suggest you chat with Asmon about this - he's gone through it a few times, took breaks and his audience came right back because they like the message / content. If you can get blood work done I would absolutely do so. Vitamin deficiency can be that 5-10% you need to feel progressively better broski.

This mirrors how I've been feeling a lot lately too. Gaming used to be my escapism, but I'm struggling to find that joy and it doesn't help me switch off from stress like it used to. One thing I need to get back into is a bit of exercise, when I last found the motivation to get healthy, I did feel so much better in myself...i think there's a lot to be said about making your body produce the right chemicals to boost your mood and overall well being. The challenge is breaking that cycle of demotivation. Hopefully a vacation will help you reset and get back to feeling positive. Keep your head up and I wish you all the best buddy

I enjoy your content, and you always strike me as a decent, wholesome dude, so keep your head up. As someone who's dealt with depressive cycles most of his life, I think realising and acknowledging the fact that you're feeling down is a great start. Someone else mentioned exercise, and I agree. Walking, going to the gym, or even just being active (doing dishes, etc.), and a healthy diet help a lot. I personally like to alternate physical and mental activities (study/work for a while, do dishes, do some admin, go for a walk). Spend some time in the sun and avoid work/gaming entirely for a day or two, to see if it makes a difference. Good luck and feel better.

One thing we need to come to grips with is that happiness is just an emotion and it shouldn’t be something we feel nonstop. Not being happy or in a good mood is normal and expected. You don’t need to feel bad for not feeling happy. Acknowledge you aren’t happy today and it’s not a good day even if nothing triggered it. It’s fine to not be fine. You got this brother.

As an addict I can tell you that my brain desires the rapid mood changes. In other words when things are going good and they're pegged at a hundred perfect my brain freaks out and says what's going to go wrong next and if nothing happens my brain makes things miserable. Talking to people helps, continue to talk to people even when you're not feeling like talking to people. We call it the 1000 lbs phone, pick it up use it. Physically spend time in the same place with friends/family. Keep doing it, even when you feel like it wont or even when it doesn't, keep doing it. It works.

Sunlight, touching the earth with bare skin, vitamins, good diet, and exercise (weight training and cardio - both are equally important!). I know everyone has a regimen to cure this and maybe even mine is wrong too. But what I mentioned before is why my life completely changed. Every day. Sunlight, touching the earth with bare skin, vitamins, good diet, and exercise. We have to push our bodies and stress them to tell them to wake up and we need them to keep functioning and living. Top three supplements: Vitamin D (especially since we are inside all day), Omega 3's (Fish Oil), and Magnesium. So much of the USA population is deficient in these crucial micro nutrients. Stay strong dude.

Struggled with substance abuse and depression for decades. I started a high intensity exercise routine about 8 months ago and it has changed my life. Mostly burpees and only about 20 minutes a day once i was able to build up to that point ( took months). The weight loss and muscle gain has been great but the biggest benefit has been stability to my mood. Sure life is life and not all days are the same but it has basically cured the heavy weight that was smothering me. Granted i am not a doctor but maybe it can help you too. You don't need a gym membership or any equipment either. Stay strong, you got this and remember, if you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you have always got. There are several good burpee KZitem channels if you want to give it a go. Cheers mate.

To anyone who may be feeling similar - I have to, and I really benefitted from reading this: Becoming your best self requires that you have a clear notion of the direction you wish to follow. Sometimes this can get clouded by the demands of everyday life. It can be helpful to take time to reflect on three questions: "What is it that I do best?", "What do I really like to do?" and "What do I do that adds the greatest value?" The convergence of the answers to these three questions can provide a roadmap to fulfilling your greatest potential.

Take care man! Taking a break is a great choice. And if that's not enough, I have a few suggestions that helped me in the past: 1. Making sure your 3 core things are in order: excircise a few times a week, eat regularly and healthy, sleep enough. 2. Cange things up. Even ideal routine might not work for you. So you might need to mix things up even tho you're doing what you like. 3. Consult with therapist. They are quite good at figuring out whats actually bugging you.

Oh I feel this, so much. Everyhting can go right and you can have everything you wanted, and live an enviable life, but still feel horrible and can't quite put your finger on it. I lived through that. Take time off and do something different. But mostly go outside and get out of your comfort zone if you can. Repeat every six months. Love from France.

I can absolutely relate. I think and feel that I am in the exact same situation as you are right now. There is no logical expanation for it on my side either. I wouldn't call it depression or burnout, though. I feel that just my batterie is empty, and I have been more than just grinding on my reserves lately. Glad to hear that you have already plans - but DON'T feel the urge that you HAVE to be back - take your time off, and take as much as you need. I have a couple of more days that I need to hang in, but I will drop out afterwards as well..

I go through these moments time to time as well. I started working out in January and I’ve noticed a big improvement in my overall mood. I still have those bad days where I hate on myself but not nearly as much. Also playing games as a job can take away the enjoyment after a while. A reset should make things feel fresh again.
