This was just used excellently in the film On The Rocks so glad I found the track

I just watched "On the Rocks" along with "Somewhere", and both of them are well-written and wonderfully made even though it's underappreciated by mainstream audiences.

I wrote the title of this on a piece of paper. Just found it on my desk - looked for the track - here. Perfection! WHY do I love minimalist music so much?? Must be the repetition I guess, it's why I love sample artists a lot too. Give me More!!! See Anna Meredith 'Something Helpful' and 'Nautilus' and 'Paramour' Also Philip Glass' entire catalogue 😎

...that's such a brilliant little piece...and a brilliant presentation. many thx 4 sharing. Nyman and Greenaway are the perfect post-modern symbiosis!

Ricordo male o era nel film Orlando, mentre lei correva nel labirinto? Il ritmo era un po' diverso, ma la melodia mi sembra questa...

heh, if Mozart wanted to write in minimalism - this would be it. :)

Nyman said he just arranged it in the style of Jerry Lee Lewis. In the opera film, Letters, Riddles, and Writs, Nyman is put on trial on a charge of plagiarizing the piece.

What do they mean "First Album Version"? Do they mean the "studio recording" as opposed to whatever liver versions?

This is the 1981 version. In 2008 Nyman included this track (though a different version) in his album Mozart 252, released 252 years after Mozart's birth.

Here we see clearly Mozart's problem ; such variety a of invention...he was bored with this motif after a few bars , yet it certainly bears repeating , until it sinks into the ears of us mere mortals . Beethoven knew how to let a theme sink in, but I'd still rather take Mozart and listen again and again.

Reminds me of Wallace and Gromit when I hear this version. But, seriously, one of my favourite songs of all time.
