Just wanna point out on the Arctotherium one, the bear used when you were talking about their modern relatives is actually a sun bear. Spectacled bears are bigger and less arboreal than sun bears. Idk if anyone else did the same when this was uploaded to tiktok, but just wanted to let you know. I love your lil paleo profile like videos tho! And I'd love to see more of them and these longer compilations of them as well in the future! :)

Honestly if i ever saw a Meg coming at me out of the gloom of the ocean, I'd die of a heart attack before it just swam by me because let's face it, most super predators probably didn't bother with tiny prey unless they were starving, so most likely larger specimens of Megalodon would be safe to swim around as long as you didn't get too close to its mouth though it would be dangerous to drive a large boat near it.

I remember watching a special on Animal Planet or Discovery about all the different Major extinction Events. had Demetrodon on there. the special called its ground of animals 'mammal like Reptiles' when talking about them which had me looking up more. Wish i could remember the specials name so i could rewatch it.

Why were the Terror Birds only found in South America? Is there a definitive reason like specific prey or geographical features or a particular climate? Idk I just find it weird that creatures that big and that successful would only be in one small part of the world.

mosasaur being at least 40 feet long is not an estimation, we KNOW it was at least that big because of a full skeleton, and fragments of bigger skeletons suggest they may have gotten up to near 60feet in length.
