The acting in this is so incredible. I mean, you feel the emotion of their characters so much it’s hard to comprehend that it’s devised from a script. This movie may not be real life, but it’s portray of the pain and struggle that inevitably accompanies it is in fact very real. And it’s scary how love itself can take us from a feeling of unequivocal bliss to unimaginable suffering in only an instant❤️

It's a fucking movie, how am I supposed to prove you wrong? Contact the author of the book this was based upon? You prove yourself right, how about that? And I didn't comment on those posts below because they said she was a slut. That, I agree with to a point. What I do not agree with is that she only went back to her husband because the "rich man threw her out". That is a dumbass statement. She was going to tell the rich guy that she still loved her husband, and the rich guy (John) told her that she was one of many women he had paid to sleep with simply to make it easier on her to leave because he could see in her eyes when she looked at her husband at that auction how in love with him she still was. She was leaving to go back to her husband rather John (Rich guy) threw her out or not. Him doing what he did at the end was the one good thing he did the entire film. He let her go so that she would be happy, even though it meant his own unhappiness. Moral of the story is that true love can withstand anything and even rich assholes do something good once in a while.

It's 2024 and I just got this to watch this movie for the first time after all those years. I must say, it was pretty good, better than expected even. I remember from as early as my childhood hearing people name Demi Moore as the most beautiful woman on the planet, well she does look amazing in this movie. (havent seen that many of hers tbh). And final comment, movies were so much better in general during the ninetees, compared to present day times. This was another reminder of that.

Epic magnifficent movie, taking life, love and forgiveness to extremes, brilliantly showing us normal people doing the unthinkable. The romantic, sad and sensual setting, gives us an opportunity to take stop in life, look around at our lifes, and to enjoy this superb work of art who combines bitter sweet moments such as life offer us every day. Of course, Demi is amazing and lovely, and beautiful: the best one for this film, irreplaceable. Redford an Harrelson also make this movie the hit it was and is. John Barry consolidates everything like the genius he is, giving us nostlagic music that imediatly asociates with this movie. His music in this soundtrack, is to me the best musical score in cinema. This soundtrack is a must for every music lover, and every soundtrack lover. its just the most incredible soundtrack.

What is indecent about his proposal? $1000000 is a lot of money. Now if he offered her $5 that would be indecent.

I envy his look of relief. I had the woman, family of my dreams and I lost them because of something In our past I could never let myself go of. I loved her more than she knew and more than she will ever know.

The weather in movie makes no sense. First when she's in the limo at the end, it's dark outside. Then when she gets out of the limo it's dawn. Then when she's on the bus it's nice and sunny. Then suddenly when she's at the pier it's gray and misty. ??????

It's funny that some think she was kicked out when it's very clear that the whole story in limo about the "Million Dollar Club" was made up...because he couldn't settle for less than 100% from her.
@albuslarsen5519

I dont think that he made up the story because he couldn't settle for less than 100%. I think he did it because he loved her. What is clear, however, is that the ending is just stupid in every way! Why would she want to have David back? She was obviously IN LOVE with Gage, but Hollywood didn't want Gage to "win" her. Plot armor for David in this case, because he behaved like the biggest douche ever - didn't deserve it.
@scottwilson599

Albus Larsen What are you talking about she was obviously in love with Gage? David and her were soul mates. She went with Gage for a little bit after his constant persual. As soon as David forgave her or explained himself for his actions that led to the breakup she wanted him back. Your version would not be very realistic, she falls in love with a rich guy after a few months and is like ya forget the guy that was my world since high school.

I think he did that because he was clearly fallung in love with her...fallIng HARD. He knew that they would never ever had what she had with her husband, whom she lived even through the financial hardship. He just " knew" that he could not compete.

There are only a few moments like this in everyone's life where you experience true love..maybe one, or even none. People spend their money away to try to recapture it in vain.
