Indoor distance running is for sure a unique experience...just not a fun one.

This helped my brother alot for indoor. He got a 5:22 mile and 2:34 half-mile. Can you teach us how to run a 6:00 minute mile outdoor, that's my goal, but I have a 6:22

You could also do what I call "the Harrier 800" and book it the whole time. This is what I do as a "Harrier" or someone whose primary skill is long distance (5k+) Though the 3200 is still a race I'm pretty good at.

Also, I kick with about 400m indoors and 500ish outdoors.

I'm in 9th grade, and I'm hoping to run in college. What 1600 meter time should I have by the end of this year?

Finlay Adamson You're just at the beginning of your training then. You've got three more years to work hard if you want to run in college. Try to get under 5. That's a solid time for a freshman.

Cool! If you don't mind me asking, what college did you run for? I am graduating high school this year and am going to UW Stevens Point next year. I'm hoping to make their XC team, but my times are in need of improvement (18:41). Thanks again!

I ran for Oshkosh. I'm not going to lie. Collegiate running is no joke. You're going to have to bring your time down significantly to run for Point. However, you can be on the team and run in the open races until you get fast enough to be on the team, officially.

Thanks for the honesty. I started running junior year and have been consistent year-round with XC, track, summer and winter running. My only hope is that I still have a bit of significant improvement left being that im so inexperienced. So, could I still be on the team before my times really improve?

+Tips4Running i alway's thought indoor was slower because the air is always drier then outdoor and your always turning. turning burns energy were on an outdoor track your only turning half as much.

Emily Fluet indoor times are always slower because you are running on a smaller track than outdoor. That means more, tighter turns which can affect your times
