This is a tip I had to figure out for myself. But it turns out that many high-profile political journalists use this tip to get connected with the top celebrities, business-people, or politicians in their field.

@@Onlinepmcourses Lol that's funny. I think that comment was made by my 15 year old son who had borrowed my ipad. However I have now watched the video and found it really interesting. I have a job interview today and if stakeholder management comes up I'll know it was divine intervention :). I think all of your videos are great Mike! I've been in project management a long time and love the way you distil and share information in a way that's so easy to understand. Great stuff lad :)

@@rebeccapearce2009 Good luck with your job interview, lass! And good to know I'm down with the 15-y-os. I should tell my daughter!

Great video. I have found 1 and 2 to be evident in my fledgling career already, and see 4 demonstrated in practice. A question regarding what you said in #3 - senior executive have become adept at guarding their thoughts - is this because of all the politics (egos, sensitivities, etc) that they are aware of and so used to navigating? I’ve always thought of that more as a negative - because I’ve needed to hone my political nous in organisations - but as a senior leader, are you suggesting it is a strength of more junior staff as they can talk freely without a filter of trying to ‘be strategic’ (something we always ask of our people). Thank you!

All I mean is that sometimes we ought not (or think it best not to) say what we are thinking. As you grow and develop through your career, you get better at being guarded about speaking your thoughts. It can be a good thing (how often have you made a comment and then later regretted it, having thought about it more?) But it can make it hard for us to get the information we need, as PMs.
