Air tools just hit different. I still love air tools when I can easily access air. Yeah for taking off tires or something you don't need an air gun. But if I have a stubborn fastener my air impact will always crank it off. An air hammer is also such a life saver, couldn't imagine not having it. Die grinders and cut off tools are so much cheaper in the air version as well, and they have more power. Not to mention the #1 one thing which I think you also said. A blow gun, I use constantly for cleaning.

Sweet bunch of tools and the copper air line are so nice , in my experience the oil less compressors won't hold up under hard air tool daily use ,BETTER off getting one with the separate compressor head . l have one built in 1937 still running strong but it is not used daily any more. I see a lot of people getting by without air these days, what with their cordless tire inflators and blowers and all. I'm old school and if I was starting over I think I would be getting air pretty quickly. I'm a fan of Quincy compressors. Although here in NE Florida IR is pretty popular.

I'd be lost without my air compressors. I have a 30 gallon Craftsman. It powers my impact gun, air hammer, shear, nibbler and 3/8 ratchet. I had a 1 gallon Campbell Hausfeld that I brought on mobile jobs. It was enough to remove lug nuts and axle nuts or blowing debris. I later upgraded to a twin tank compressor. I recently picked up a 2 gallon Craftsman portable compressor at the dump. It works. I need to replace the broken oil fill cap and regulator gauge.

@@jefftovani5535 Older Craftsman compressors that were "106" model prefix were Campbell-Hausfeld made, those that are "919" prefix are DeVilbiss made, and "921" are MAT Technologies which bought DeVilbiss a few years ago.

Yes, IR makes good stuff, although some of their air tools are imported as I believe they, among others have an agreement with Fuji to import some from overseas. Sears Craftsman "875" prefix air tools were Florida Pneumatic and they too had an agreement with Fuji. Some MAC air tools were IR sourced. Just stay away from the direct drive "oil less" ones because they rely on a Teflon ring to do the sealing. When the Teflon wears out the piston flies around and wipes out the entire head of the machine. I've rebuilt a few of those and nothing beats an old school oil lubed machine. The CFM output of the air compressor must always exceed the CFM consumption of the tool being used or the compressor will operate beyond its' duty cycle and not last long.

@@jefftovani5535 That would have been a "919" DeVilbiss made unit. They also made oil lubricated ones too. My friend gave me a 1968 Sears "106" (CH) model when he cleaned out his garage before moving. It was his dad's. I have to go through it.

I used to use my tire air storage tank when I first moved to Florida. I'd fill it at work to 120 PSI and go to the gas station to refill it if I needed more right away. Then I got a 3 gallon Craftsman compressor for my house. I made a Tee to tie it to my tire storage tank to increase available volume when using air tools. I can only dream of a true shop like you have. Keep those videos coming, we love them.

Damn. That’s a serious compressor for being single phase. I keep thinking I’ll probably scrounge up an old one. I have a 8 gal Harbor Freight unit and then, I have an old US made Craftsman that is much quieter. I realized I should use it as a primary…. Which snowballed into a garage/shop overhaul…. Video to come on that one. Though grabbing that model you’ve got there, is tempting. I’d still grab the Carlyle wrenches.

Jeff I like this video my friend. I am still a fan of having air tools in the shop. I like having battery operated impacts it definitely makes it nice when you have to work out side the shop. But we have air hard piped over to our lift and we use an air impact all the time. The air impact we use we keep it oiled and it has been extremely reliable making it really cost efficient. But I am a tool guy so I think a person should have both! Lol
