In this installation video, we show you how quickly and easily you can set up and install our insect screen sliding door.
Required tools: rolling metre, pencil, hacksaw, file, screwdriver, cutting bowl.
Step by step:
00:13 Measure the width dimension B of the reveal by determining the horizontal distance from wall to wall.
00:22 Measure the height dimension B of the reveal by determining the horizontal distance from the frame.
00:26 Measure the height dimension H of the reveal by determining the vertical distance from frame bottom to top.
00:32 Calculate the appropriate shortening dimension for your door.
02:42 Shorten the components at the marked points with a hacksaw.
03:03 Drill the holes at position C of the drilling template on profiles 2, 3 and 4.
03:06 To do this, insert the drilling template on both sides of the ends of the profiles and drill from the outside through the laterally open groove into the cavity of the profile using a 3.5 mm drill bit. Do NOT drill all the way through the profiles.
03:38 The holes at position D of the drilling template are to be made at the height profiles 2 and 4. 03:44 To do this, place the drilling template on the bottom of the upper height profiles 2 and on the top of the lower height profiles 4. At point D, drill into the cavity on both sides with a 3.5 mm drill bit so that the profile is completely drilled through.
04:13 Connect the two profiles to the upper cross profile using corner connectors and the two profiles to the lower cross profile.
04:23 Insert the threaded pins into the holes C in profiles 2, 3 and 4. Screw them in flush using the hexagon socket.
04:35 Insert the centre connector halfway into the profile as shown and fix it in hole C with a grub screw so that the hole D matches the recess on the centre connector.
04:43 Then push the profile onto the centre connector and fix it in place with the set screw in hole C.
04:55 Place the middle profile on the connected profiles as shown. Insert the spacers into the keder groove on the profiles. Screw the profiles to the centre profile via the two holes D using screws.
05:15 Unroll the fabric over the frame and divide it along the centre profile with scissors.
05:25 Fix the fabric with rubber piping all around in the piping groove of the profiles. Use the wide side A of the piping tool for this.
05:33 Shorten the piping with scissors after you have fixed it all around..
05:39 Shorten the fabric on the outside along the piping with a cutter.
05:43 Attach the handle to the left or right of the door, depending on the installation situation. To do this, remove the protective film from the adhesive strips on the handle part.
05:47 Insert the handle into the profile on the desired side as shown and glue it to the fabric. Fix the handle part with two screws in the screw channel of the profile using the screw insert.
06:10 Place the 7mm sealing brush on the outer profile groove of the profiles and press it into the groove with the narrow tip B of the keder tool.
06:17 Shorten the sealing brush according to the groove lengths with scissors.
06:22 Attach the two rollers to the upper cross profile at a distance of 100mm from the corners by angling them as shown and fastening them with the four screws.
06:44 Guide the guide rail into the groove of the lower profile.
06:48 Drill through the guide profiles three times each using a 4mm drill bit. Drill at a distance of 100mm from the ends of each guide profile and in the centre of the two outer holes. Widen the holes at the front of the profiles using an 8mm drill bit so that the screw head fits through the hole.
07:03 Connect the two guide profiles in the middle using a connector.
07:17 Slide the connected guide profiles onto the rollers at the top of the door.
07:27 Place the screw against the recess on the stopper and screw it loosely through the stopper into the counterpart using the screw insert.
07:38 Slide the connected unit sideways into the guide rails on both sides and screw it into the desired position. Push the end caps onto the guide rails.
08:09 Drill through the holes in the guide profile into the cane using a 2.5mm drill bit and screw them together using screws.
08:20 Then insert the cover caps into the drill holes.
08:26 The door is ready to be attached to the door frame. The upper edge of the upper guide rail is located 48 mm above the door frame.
08:40 Using a 2.5 mm drill, drill through the holes in guide profile 6 into the frame and connect it with screws 25. Then push the covering caps 26 into the drill holes. Attach the magnetic strips to the bottom of the door frame.
08:59 Remove both mounting aids.
09:02 Push the door guide onto the guide rail .
09:15 Drill both holes with a 6 mm drill and push the plugs into the drill holes.
