I'm a trim/finish carpenter who's been in the game for a good while. I've worked on VERY expensive homes and I am considered a B- grade carpenter. (There are like 50 A+ carpenters in North America, in my opinion.) Anyway, I couldn't do this in 8 weeks reliably, by myself. It's not something I would take on with a contract if I couldn't have at least a remedial grade helper. Whoever you are, whatever your background, you are a fucking beast. Hats off.

Amazing build. So well thought out and stunning. The one thing I'm unsure about is the lack of access directly into the cab. Don't you feel like that creates a safety issue? Do you ever feel uneasy because of it? I feel like I'd never be able to sleep in the back, and any sound outside would make me panic if I didn't have direct access to the cab.
@drivetheglobe
2 жыл бұрын
Thought about access from the cab but it would have taken up too much room in both the habitat and the cab- and probably would have also leaked with the cab tilt to overcome. In all of my years traveling I have never had any issues- especially with big obvious non discreet rigs. Thanks for watching..

Very cool! I’m in the early stages of design/layout of a camper I’m building and was looking at idea cabinets. They make so many different products that I feel I could adapt to what I’m trying to do, just a little worried about how it all may hold up after a few hours down a bumpy dirt road. I know it’s still early on your build but do you have any pros/cons with how they’ve held up or expect to hold up? Thanks again, looks great!
@drivetheglobe
3 жыл бұрын
Its early but I have taken them on one brutal dirt track already. Honestly, the cabinets in my trailer were way less quality and that thing went all over the place on poor roads and off road and they survived fine. I think they will be solid. Thanks for watching.

Wow! that's a kitchen! Love the windows! The best, shower/wc, bed/closed area and kitchen, of course. But in the Mac area, I can't see how you can fit and use your mouse. Very impressive, job. Altogether an awesome truck.

Thank you!! Wish I could post a pic here but I guess that is not an option, desktop folds down so plenty of space (about 30"x24") of desk top space to work on.

I have those Artic Tern windows. A little-known feature is you can close the latches in the middle gap which leaves the windows open by less than an inch but is still sealed at the top to prevent rain entry. Opening more than one and the MaxxAir fan provides quite a bit more airflow than you might imagine.

Yes! That is a really cool feature, & the Maxx air is a beast!!

Fair play it’s a good job. Nice that you’ve built it to a reasonable (realistic) budget. Nice 👌...

Thank you. Yes, keeping to a realistic budget and not trying to go over the top was important to me.
