I lived in Nairobi for ten years as a child, from 1957 to 1967. My family and I lived in different houses during that time, two of them in Upper Hill. The first was at the corner of Upper Hill Road and Elgon Road, next door to Upper Hill School. The second house was at the corner of Ragati Road (called Rawson Road at that time) and Mara Road. Big old fashioned wooden houses built on brick pillars to keep termites away from the floors. Both houses have long since gone - there’s a big modern Upper Hill skyscraper where the Ragati Road house was. And according to Google Earth, there’s open waste ground where the Upper Hill/Elgon Road house was. Upper Hill School, where I was a pupil, is still there. My years living in Upper Hill were some of the happiest of my childhood. Upper Hill has changed so much since my time there in the 1960s, but so many good memories brought back by watching your video - Asantini sana to you both, and greetings from Scotland.

Our supreme court overturned the presidential election in 2017, after the incumbent won. In 2022, the incumbent teamed with Raila, but they were together unable to force the electoral commission to declare Raila as the winner. It recognized the rightful winner (Ruto), who was vp (can't be fired by president) but was frustrated ever since Raila and Uhuru's friendship. The two disputed and thought that the supreme court would favor them only for it to affirm Ruto's win... We may not be perfect but our institutions are working somehow.

Nairobi or kenya has been growing because of leadership more than the political atmosphere, tz has a better political atmosphere than kenya but it still lags behind to kenya, leadership matters as in case n point like rwanda, when the leadership is good there is room for growth, moi's era growth was stagnant n i have a feeling the next five years not much growth will be seen but i stand to be corrected, also dolphine kinda feels like she is new to nairobi herself but she sure did try, there is plenty of gems she didn't seem to know of in Nairobi n upper hill particularly, but it's the joy of exploring, you both learn, also she shouldn't be so hard on uganda's development, she understands the situation on the ground i hope, hope u enjoy kenya ssebo
