I'm sorry, without John thaw, there is no more of Inspector Morse

I disagree with the comment that Lewis is played as stupid. In the TV episode Morse was going to see the film Last Tango in Paris with Lewis, but the cinema was showing Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Much to Lewis's amusement. I think John Shrapnel does a decent portrayal of Morse probably, closer to Shaun Evans's Endeavour, who had his extreme and blunt moments.

The character of Lewis, played as "stupid" to extreme. Morse, enticing Lewis to view porn at the finale, seems out of character as we have known Morse in the past.

I disagree. I think the lead performances are good - Lewis more like a detective recently promoted from a plain-clothes copper, and Morse educated but quite standoffish. I agree with you though that Morse taking Lewis to watch some arty porn film at the end is a bit stupid.

Totally in keeping with the original novel.

@@oliverbayley3509 Yes I expect so. These are not specially written radio programmes but adaptations of novels. I believe. I dislike this series of novels but the radioplay is better on the whole.
