The call from the mother at the end! We hear about tragedies every day but don’t often think about the trauma and unending grief for families. God bless.

Probably closer to John Thaw's portrayal of Morse. Lee Ingleby is great as Lewis and again closer to Kevin Whateley's character.

Actually they are legitimate pictures of both chaps in suits which took a long time to find (in the case of Neil). I felt had the right whiff of Morse and Lewis. Glad you enjoyed my sad indulgent picture making.

I take your point. I’m a huge fan of the original books, but also the TV series which went above and beyond Colin’s original books, but were overseen by him. As you may or may not be aware the writer of these two Neil Pearson plays, the late Alma Cullen who sadly passed away last January, was no stranger to Morse having written the episodes The Death of the Self, Fat Chance, The Infernal Serpent and The Secret of Bay 5B. Colin certainly approved of her work. The first play Ghosts was a touring play with ex Doctor Who Colin Baker playing Morse. So wish I’d seen it. Glad you enjoyed. I’m very jealous you knew Colin. What a legend and what a creation.

Hmm.....the " joys " of a whiney , female Scottish accent seem to have eluded me thus far in life. Or was it the Nicola Sturgeon reference that jarred ? You Nats are SO touchy. Are the Police still investigating the activities of Mr and Mrs Murrell then...?
