Nizamuddin Basti is well known for its street food like korma, kebabs & biryani. For the latest episode of The Rasoi Project, we decided to head there & meet a group of 11 amazing women, known as Zaika-e-Nizamuddin (ZeN), supported by the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative, who are cooking up a storm with their awesome Mughlai food!

Zaika-e-Nizamuddin (ZeN) is a self-help group of 11 women chefs, supported by the Aga Khan Development Network through its Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative project. The group specialises in authentic Mughlai cuisine from the culturally rich Basti Hazrat Nizamuddin. Be it 'melt in the mouth' shami kebabs or lip-smacking biryani and mutton korma, the women chefs of ZeN have excelled in capturing the authentic flavours of Nizamuddin. The group is also adept at preparing delicious and healthy snacks following the age-old recipes like atta-besan laddoo, til-gud laddoo, nutri-mathri, etc.
The group runs a food delivery service and also supplies nutritious food to the undernourished children from the basti. They also host pop-ups in Nizamuddin Basti.
