Elisa - Being a sailor, I totally recommend using Butyl tape instead of regular window sealing tape. It's a little more expensive but the benefits are outstanding. Butyl tapes are highly flexible, durable and waterproof, creating an airtight seal on whatever surface you use them on, and much superior to what you used around that new window install. Compared with its natural counterpart, butyl tape is less sensitive to varying temperatures and maintains its stickiness at lower temperatures than traditional rubber adhesives. And you'll find it really helps when you start installing things on the roof. Oh, and I love your new haircut. Great job on the window!

Just in case you don't know, when cutting with a saw its important to know exactly where you want to cut once you have marked the cutout. In other words, for the most precision, you don't normally cut right ON the markup line. You want the edge of the saw blade to cut along the very edge of the markup line. In this case, on the inside edge of the markup line, not on it. No idea if this was part of the problem but its good to think about when cutting any kind of construction material.

If you put your ladder on the side you going to have to be careful not to damage it, I have seen so many side ladders bent or damaged from hitting objects when driving. they make smaller rear ladders that attach to the rear doors. Just a thought

your first statement is right on the nose!!! I delayed installing both my maxxair fan and AC unit because I was terrified something would go wrong that I couldn't fix........ and my vent holes were already cut from the manufacturer LOL - in the end both installs went great, as I followed the instructions most of the time.....12:05 It will all work out! Ùse 5300 boat caulk and you won't have any worries about leaking. It's designed for movement and extreme sun exposure. I use it on all my installs and have yet to hear about a leak. And that's something you would hear about very quickly. The best products for any van build are marine products. They absolutely have to work. Don't let learning stop you from continuing. You just figured out how to do a better cut out already. Make your template from the smaller frame and trim your way to a perfect fit. Ok, it takes a little longer. But you have a perfect fit, and that's all that matters. Bunny is cute, but that's not really what makes your video's special. It was you kicking back playing with bunny and just being you. And analytics aren't as important as you think. Being yourself and keeping your progress going is. So far I'd say you're doing a great job of both. Now chop that hole! We want to see the windows installed! 😄👍

hello Elisa, I am not sure if you know but an excellent way to drill holes thru various kinds of thin sheet metal is to use a cobalt step drill as they leave a clean round hole with no jagged edges and a dab of rapid tap drill/thread cutting oil to make the sharp edge of the drill last longer. enjoying the videos and bunny is cool☺

01:02 yes we love watching the bunny very much ❤ you let him roam around freely. just curious, how do you deal with the pee/poop smell that may spread in the house? 05:06 while driving you have to look into the camera while talking, that takes your eyes off of the road. so please be careful dear. 11:05 Awww, I love watching that happiness on your face, when you see your work is getting done as expected. You are such an inspiration dear! Do make sure the screws on the window edges are well tight. loose screws may result in leakage during rains. Love you Elisa 💕💕

Depending on your inside build, you may be able to get away without adding the ladder and still access the roof. By adding one small step on the interior, and using the rear hinges of a partially opened door as steps I can easily climb to the roof of my Promaster. I can see the ladder if you're planning a platform or sitting area on the roof, but it's probably not needed otherwise. IMO just gives uninvited passerbys (Including nosey raccoons) a reason to go up there.

If I may: all you have to drill is ONE hole in the center of your cardboard template: once it is taped inside the van at the position you wish, drill a 1/16 inche through the metal wall. Then bring the template at the outside of the van and tape it using the 1/16 drill bit as a reference, All you have to do is making sure that the template is parallel to the van body metal fold just over the window.
