Brent, I found your channel by watching “Japhands”, he says hey! I have about 12 GM cruise models just like yours. They come with 2 part numbers, don’t know if there is a difference. I am a retired ASE Master Tech and depending on the trans, the “VSS” is not hard. It screws onto the trans old cable area. The use a metal 40 tone ring on the output shaft. Your schematic will show VSS-Hi, VSS-lo. Lo goes to ground inside the LS PCM. Hi signal is converted from digital on/off signal. It switches faster as you go. It simply changes ac to dc on / off. The 92-94 Camero/Firebird used the 700R4, but called the 4L60e. The drive gear in a TH350, TH400, TH200R4 are the same diameter (1 1/2”)? Remove tail housing, press-in clip, slide plastic gear off. A 2’ pipe with one square end with drive the tone ring on. Clean shaft first with nylon scuff pad, wipe with carb spray, and drive on until middle of speedo hole. Use the “F” body VSS sensor (Ring & Sensor cheap at Rock Auto) Get the two wire connector, solder wire to reach. Twist with drill 9 times per foot (8 is no ones looking) I include frame ground w/this harness and ground again at front. The PCM has input for both. On is dedicated to speedo only. Use it. I will have to check my schematics for rest, but sounds like you are on the way. Lt1swap.com has wiring online for your year but 2003 Tahoe/Silverado use DBW, Vans use cable and others 2002 down. Hit me up if more needed. I live in the big city in NE. I can’t build a lean-too without permit. Grew up on farm, build what you want! Neighbors can’t see it and I would love to have a shop. I have a tiny 1 1/2 car garage and 38+ years of tool boxes, MIG, Torch, Sandblast Cabinet, and wall of shelves. I need a proper shop. Subscribed today on 41st anniversary. We are not doing anything expect I a grilling fillet-Minion. Great stuff as I started on lawn mowers & metric motorcycles in the county, in late 60’s. Best of luck & will be watching!!!

Damn good looking truck, great job on the cruise good to know. I had a 69 Chevy Full size wagon and horrible noise in the transmission. In an apartment at the time and took the car to a shop. They told me it was the rear U Joint and I said they were nuts the noise is in the transmission. He was so confident he agreed to replace the rear U Joint if the noise is still there he would not charge me a dime. I was impressed, so let him go ahead and the rear joint was toast. no grease, dry, rusty and clearly failing. Noise was gone, I gave him a tip. Very Well done on the Dodge. the drive shaft noises can run from one end to the other and trick you. Nice old Dodge Cruiser. You have the best rides. Thank You for posting. D

I had visions of cables to the throttle and a vacuum canister to hold it in place... I seen them with the beads like they used on lights overhead and you pulled on the chain to turn on or off. Way nicer deal. And drivelines can be a bear to diagnose if its a light vibration or only some speeds make it shake a little. I chased one for a while to find a rim with a crack in it. Great luck/skills again Brent

Re the cruise control Engaged Lamp at 11:27 your showing the PCM which connects to the CCM via that blue and black wire, from this schematic you have a voltage source connected to a pull up resistor connected to the "arrow" which I assume is where the Lamp connects, then the blue/black wire runs to a normally open switch in the CCM, which connects to ground when ever your cruise control is switched on. With the switch in the open position no voltage is dropped over the resistor so the voltage at the arrow will be the supply voltage, if you had a lamp connected here to the same supply voltage the voltage difference across the lamp would be zero so the lamp would be off, but when the cruise control is on and the switch is closed, the blue/black wire is ground and so the voltage at the arrow becomes 0 (ground) and the lamp will illuminate, hopefully this explanation is clear :)

The simplest things aren't always simple... You may want to know that most single LEDs only want 3.5 to 5v to run so they need an inline resistor to drop the voltage from the car's 12v. Some LEDs have them soldered on the bulb already and should be obvious. Some circuits (like the cruise control unit) may only produce the 3.5 to 5v needed for the LED. Use a tester to check the voltage of the circuit. Otherwise the LED may pop or not last long. And boy can they explode. Ask me how I know.... Typically a .5K-5K resistor is used but for those of you wanting specifics there are online calulators to tell you exactly what resistor should be used. There's normally no real harm in using too big of a resistor except dimmer light or no light at all. The resistor goes on the longer lead of the LED which should be the + lead (anode). Obviously, checking the specs of the LED would be best but I thought I'd toss this out if you just found one from "somewhere". Here is another way to tell which is the + and - of an LED: www.rakeshmondal.info/Identify-cathode-anode-of-a-LED Too much info? Sorry. But if you find that perfect little LED with the nice lens and bezzle you probably don't want to blow it up. ;)
