This giy is one of the most electrifying guitar players you will ever see on stage! I knew Simo when he was only 15 and tearing up the bars and clubs of the Phoenix area. I consider him the most amazing unknown guitar talent in America right now. This dude will knock you out of your seat with everything from country to blues-rock guitar picking and does it as well anybody out there!

I have a 58 reissue that looks almost exactly like that les Paul. It sounds very similar too except for my awful playing

Hey man, sounds great. My rig is very similar to yours . I own a 08' traditional, a fender twin, and deluxe reverb. I owned enough pedals to open a pawn shop; I guess that was due to my tone search. My od pedal of choice now is a barber direct drive. I don't need much overdrive either, but I like to know it there.LOL. I dig blues rock, classic rock so the direct fits the bill. I dig your 58' or 59'. I like the AC because it sounds very smooth .Like the zendr.but cheaper. LOL Rock on!

I know this cat has more going on then I do, but I think he's got it backwards. The AC has less midrange than the BB hands down.

This guy has chops but that is one of the worst LP tones I've ever heard. Tinny fizzy and harsh. Maybe it's the recording as I've always heard good things about Xotic pedals but anyone who things that LP tone sounds good should get their hearing checked and listen to ABB, Derek Trucks, Peter Green or the 100s of videos on youtube of good creamy rich vowel singing les paul tones

The AC Booster and BB Preamp always sound harsh and thin. JDs live tone sounds nothing like this.
@prsfrank
9 жыл бұрын
Tim Murphy Sorry Tim your way off the mark on the BB preamp, I cant speak for the AC booster, anything will sound thin if your playing with a high end tone but put the BB preamp in the mix and it will give you not only a boost but a bit more saturation, the reason this sounds so harsh is he is playing through an amp with no send and effects and has the reverb cranked anyone with a an idea of where tone lies that the minute you hit a gain boost which the BB preamp is, will know that everything gets thinner with so much reverb going on in the front end. But its each to his own when it comes to tone.The trick is to use the pedal to your advantage not to the extreme
@murfdog19

prsfrank I don't know. I've always hated the sound when I hear people using a BB. Though, I'm not a fan of most pedals, which is why I don't use any at all. Hell, my amp doesn't even have an effects loop.

AC Booster sounds way better with my Strat & Blues Jnr Tweed than it foes it this demo - and it has plenty of gain on tap. I use it before and after a modded OCD, sounds great.
