Captain Spaulding stole the show. The gas station scene in the beginning was phenomenal. The very best part of the whole movie. Yes sir very masterful. The way he played with their heads was extremely tense. You were nervous for them guys right of the git go. Just wish the captain was in that movie more. Very scary character.

Spoke to him a couple of times Sid Haig is a lovely man who is quite easy to talk to and very friendly. Happily talked to me about this role in Spider Baby one of my fav. Movies . Jokingly said I wasn't old enough to know the movie. True I'm 43 but l love that and house of 1000 corpses and devils rejects. He had a laugh at my captain Spaulding tshirt that a artist friend made and then signed it. Sweet old guy can't believe he's 77.

I think it’s because people who play bad guys have less ego because they’re playing the guy audiences hate. Whereas protagonist actors theme to be more likely to be egotistical since they’ll always look like a hero and will be loved by audiences

Most people rmemeber him as Captain Spaulding, I remember him as Sid Haig. I grew up on movies and shows featuring him, and no matter what he always stuck out to me. I looked to my father one day while watching an old black-and-white film, and I asked my father "Daddy, who is that?" And my father says "Ooooh, That's Sid Haig, one of the best actors of all time!" And I was in love with every performance he took part of ever since.

Sid Haig is THE MAN.....very cool...very real.....and does all the kinda shit i love. I met him at a convention and he was super cool, even though i think i interrupted his lunch. And after we talked for a sec, he autographed a Devils Rejects poster and gave it to me, before the movie had even been released.

Man's career stretches all the way back to 1960, he's been in everything from Star Trek and Batman to Buck Rogers and Mary Hartmann, even almost a dozen appearances on Mission: Impossible. First time I saw him was on the Saturday morning show Jason of Star Command, he played the main villain Dragos with the laser eye.

I always love watching interviews of actors who play extreme roles. You more than often find them to be very different than the role they are known for. Check out Tim Curry's interview back in the 70''s when he was at the height of his Rocky Horror Picture Show era. The guy is old school intellectual and a joy to watch.

Well he played the best part in cinema history as far as I am concerned along with the rest of the family in close contention.........Why Rob Zombie ended the Devils Rejects I will never know...........even if the trilogy was bad I would have loved it.
