What husband from a Mormon family with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren, and in-laws galore would deny so many who loved his wife of almost 30 years the opportunity to go to her funeral??? And her co-workers, who loved and valued her too. Chad’s mother and father knew in their bones how much of a violation of their faith and culture this was, to hold a funeral before so many could get there. Yet they did nothing to change the situation. And Chad’s kids knew how wrong this was yet said nothing to ensure that more loved ones could honor Tammy’s passing and share reminiscences together. The callousness of these people is just staggering.

Chad can’t comprehend just how loved his wife , Tammy was. Tammy wasn’t important to Chad. He thought of himself as being so far above Tammy. Once Chad found other “zombie killers “ like himself he was put on a pedestal by all those creepy people ( Lori, the two Melanie’s, Zulema, Alex and the other women) Chad writing those books and going to all meetings made him feel “loved “. Tammy had the real love from her family, friends, co-workers etc. I sincerely believe he was shocked that so many people were upset and sad when she died. Chad thought he could just get rid of Tammy and move on with Lori. He can’t comprehend that Tammy was loved and will be missed by so many people.

Charles gladly supported Colby, Tylee, and then they adopted JJ. He also supported his two sons by a previous marriage. Charles was handsome, generous, kind, and compassionate. Colby said Charles wanted to make Lori happy. It does not make sense. Chad is ugly, inside and out and a psychopath. He was not a good provider and that is why they killed people, thinking they could live off the money they got from their deaths. Had they not been caught, I wonder who they would have killed next to get their money. In Chad's mind, I think his goal was to become a multi-million dollar church, and have people giving him their money. Lori had it so good. Tammy never had it good. She deserved so much better than a self-centered, self righteous, lazy, good for nothing sorry excuse of human being. At least Tammy is in heaven, and will never have to around Chad again, because he is going to burn in hell.

So so so true! They are remarkable together firstly as husband & wife, you can tell how much they absolutely respect & love each other, how well they work together, how well they parent together and how phenomenally intelligent they both are! I love the twinkle in Lauren’s eye’s when her husband Dr. John is ready to give his expert/expertise analysis on what ever subject they are embarking on throughout this whole trial. What one doesn’t think of, the other will!! They have full respect for each other’s job’s & both will do anything to lighten the load of whichever of them may have any issue’s that may comes up during the times when one is doing said job remotely away in a courtroom & the other is doing said job on the home front, doing said primary job and caregiving as a single parent until the other gets home on the longer than most journey to & from job to home. They take it all in stride and make it work, all while fully respecting each other and the job’s they love within their profession’s! I do not think I’ve ever seen two professional individuals & on top of that, parents, with two different professions work so well together. It takes a lot of love and respect for each other, for this to work this well in any scenario! So I applaud you @Dr. John & @Lauren for making it all look so effortless when I for one could never pull it off and if people are speaking truthfully, I bet at least 80% of married couples couldn’t either. I think 80% might be on the low side, I bet it’s probably closer in the 90 percentile, but I was giving people the benefit of the doubt.

I remember, that video when Tylee said back to her mom...I'm Not a ZOMBIE!!! I just can't imagine. EDIT, on video call with Melanie G, Lori called Tylee a ZOMBIE, as Lori panned phone over, Tylee said "Not me MOM!"

This is one of your best interviews on this matter to date. Julie's praciticality and clear instincts stand in stark contrast to the obfuscation and confuison of all the other adults involved: Zulema, the Melanies, Alex, Laurie, the Daybells. Perhaps if someone with Julie's savviness had been closer to Tylee and JJ, they'd still be alive.

Missed the live but just want to thank Julie for sharing about Tylee. It’s clear her spirit would have overcome her mother’s pathos, in the long run, had she not been met with such evil. Thank you for sharing about her spunk, her strength, her joy, her love & loyalty for her loved ones. It’s important to remember who she was so that her memory is not lost in the tragedy of her death. Thank you.

I know someone who was in Lori and Charles's congregation as well (it must have been the one they moved to after Julie's ward). She was a year or so older than Tylee, and she actually had Lori and Charles as her youth Sunday school teachers. She said that Lori was a little crazy, but she didn't really do the teaching in Sunday school, mostly leaving it to Charles to teach. Apparently she was very quick to correct him if he got something wrong, and in a rude way that made it uncomfortable for the teens in the class. She said that Charles was very sweet and just a good guy. She said JJ was a sweet little angel who everyone loved. He spent sacrament meeting going from pew to pew seeing other families. She unfortunately didn't know Tylee too well because she was always "sick" and didn't go to youth group very often, but this girl also believes that she wasn't as sick as her mom would say.

I think Lori would have quickly grown tired of Chad, especially when the money ran out . Chad was no Charles when it came to supporting a high-maintenance "wife." They would have eventually offed each other as their plans continued to collapse.
@gtaylor6937

I think that phone call between them the day before he was arrested told all. Lori was already realizing what a bunch of B.S. it all was - the "blueprint." The obvious frustration and irritation in her voice as she asked him for assurances that it would all work out - he would have been hearing that in the outside world very shortly anyway, and then it would just be a question of who would off the other first.

@@gtaylor6937 I totally agree. In that call Lori threw Chad under the bus by mentioning the “backyard”. She wanted the police to find the kids. The police went to Chad’s backyard the next day and found the children. Lori already knew that she was stuck in jail and couldn’t trust Chad

Lori is so narcissistic, all she cares about is herself, her needs, if you look at all of her ex's, they were handsome, had money and fell over themselves to cater to Lori, Chad had NOTHING except his disillusioned beliefs and putting Lori as a goddess, that's why everyone had to die, the money

How refreshing to hear Julie speak so highly of Tylee. I feel like all I’ve heard for years is she was a “teenager with an attitude” & I knew that young lady needed an adult to speak up for her & I feel Tylee was there listening & saying “FINALLY!! an adult who cares”. There were far too many adults who if they would have pulled their heads out they could have saved these children. Thank you Julie for letting us know a little bit of Tylee’s sweet heart.🩷💜
