In my country, Philippines, we have a simililarity. We have that too but differs in print and colors. It is called malong. ❤ Although the chitenje has more use than our malong.
Thanks for That, very informative. Learning something new every day especially about other cultures is brilliant. ❤❤❤❤🇬🇧

Japan has the idea of using a single piece of cloth for multiple purposes as well. The "furoshiki" is one example. Although we don't wear it, it can be used in a variety of ways. You can find many KZitem videos on how to use furoshiki.I'd like to buy furoshiki made of African fabric.I love the designs and vivid coloration.
Grandma is cheerful. Congratulations for speaking Japanese. Do not mind the mistakes. All will come together at some point. Thank and your husband for doing your part to introduce Africa and Africans to Japanese.

Well done Jenny. You have really explained at length the use of the citenge. I didn’t know that you can wear it as an Apron. Indeed it had so many functions. That was a very Unique Content. I’m so happy for you. Your in-laws are very kind. ❤

6:13 is also true for hospitals in Nigeria. You are to have that type of fabric for your baby. It's called ankara in south west Nigeria. We have other fabrics like the akwete in south eastern part and many others that are peculiar to different ethnic groups e.g adire
Second red fabric reminds me of the kenya's flag 😮 and I'm surprised because Koga san's mother smoothly said "do you know mishin?". my grandma can speak only Japanese 😅

This fabric is gorgeous! Do you know if we can order it online? Also, do you sew your own dresses? If so, you should do a sewing tutorial!

Hi, Jenny!! Thank you for showing us about Chitenje, the lovely African tradition. I love the way you are wrapping George because he looks really happy in Chitenje.I think that Furoshiki is much more similar than Kimono. Please check the various variations of using Firoshiki. Love from Tokyo! 👐🏻😉
