your smooth and extensive explanation is exactly how biochem needs to be taught. these other teachers teach like they are teaching themselves with short term words and blah blah which complicates it. hopefully i pass my exams. thanks!

This video is liked by people from the 90s more I believe because it makes us re live the classroom days without any smart classes or boards to play fancy animations. He teaches like a determined teacher who literally draws all diagrams on board along with short notes. Thank you so much for your time. Best wishes from 🇮🇳 ❤

In the step involving protein complex IV when you donate 2 electrons to the 02 molecule I would in my limited capacity to understand complex things, expect to end up with an Ionized oxygen not a a water molecule. Unless there is one more step where the Ionized Oxygen species is paired with the protons coming back through the Atp synthase. Appreciate any clarification to my misunderstandings

What happens to all those H+ molecules after they pass through the ATP synthase ? Don't they reduce the pH inside the mitochondrion ?
@morenomartinovic4385
7 жыл бұрын
H+ are pumped from the mitochondrial matrix into the intermembrane space during the electron transport chain and that H+ gradient energy is used by ATP synthase to synthesize ATP molecules. Thus, H+ are constantly going in and out of the matrix.
