@@CountryCowDesigns not done yet, but my fabric has a bit of a stretch so I put a row of stay stitching on the bottom of the cut out opening to give a bit of support.

I love this! Excellent tutorial. I'm wondering if anyone out there has made this for a larger iPad (the iPad Pro, fr. ex.) and how you changed the pattern? Maybe I'll give it a try …
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
You could print the pattern at a slightly larger scale. From the printer settings you could select 105% for example
@Karen626
Жыл бұрын
@@CountryCowDesigns Yes, my math says more like 125%, at least in terms of length. Do you have the finished measurements for the case as written? I don't see them on the pattern.
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
@@Karen626 Finished size: Sized to fit a standard 1st-9th gen ipad, or any tablet up to 9.8″ x 6.8″ [25.1cm x 17.3cm]. So that’s the internal measurement.

Thank you for this lovely pattern which is pretty easy to make as your video is very clear. I used leatherette with an interfaced cotton lining. My pocket was very floppy - not sure what I did wrong. It seemed flat when I sewed it. I didn't do the piping as I didn't have any piping, but I think I should have.

I loved the idea, the design, the directions were super clear. I found it quite challenging to work with leather, though, and my sewing lines were not straight as I like to make them... had to throw it away... :(

What a great tutorial. Any thoughts to share on adding foam and quilting this. I do it with cork handbags often. Just wondering if the size of this pattern would need to increase.
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
Thanks. The main issue is that this sleeve isn’t fully lined and has rare edges so will make quilting it and adding foam very hard. It’s not a tight fit using an iPad and we’ve made it from leather which is a lot thicker and still fits fine.

Thank you, this is lovely! Couple of questions: needle size, type & weight of thread, can you use cork from fabric shop or does it need to be specialty? Thks again!😍😍😍
@CountryCowDesigns
Жыл бұрын
Needle size would be 90 microtex using any polyester thread. We buy our cork from MB cork but any good quality cork that’s about 1mm thick will do. Hope that helps

Thank you! A lovely pattern- can’t wait to have a go! can I just check, the bottom of the lining isn’t sewn in and is left raw? Will it wear ok? or is it worth running a stitch on the bottom, or would this make it a little small?
@CountryCowDesigns

I cover it a little in the tutorial but as you don’t see the bottom of it there’s no harm in it turning out a little shorter. Hope you enjoy making it 😁

Yeah it’s not a protective case and won’t help if you drop it ☺️ it’s good for jazzing your iPad and protecting the screen if it’s in your handbag along with your keys and other things, but it doesn’t have any padding 😁
