It is important to note that Ja and Irv sort of dominated quite a bit in the early 00’s with only Nelly and of course Eminem being the only mainstream competition. Ja was everywhere with his own singles and being featured in somebody else’s songs. In da club kind of destroyed the whole melodic easy to listen to mainstream rapping at that time and you can say 50 really came in at the right time with the right tunes and with the perfect backing and hype.

what this goes to show is that every battle and everything isn't about lyricism. 50 cent used all his leverage to his advantage. When he made "In Da Club" he picked the right beat, wrote a very catchy hook, and hade fun on the verses. he knew he had a hit record on his hands. It was not written to be a super lyrical record. 50 knew how to make good music. Irv as an executive who had his label full of hit makers knows a smash hit when he hears it. Irv had to respect it. Dre with the simple but massive beat, the insanely huge Eminem co sign, and the power of Jimmy Iovine and Interscope records all made for a phenomenal thing.

He knew it was a wrap by the time In the Club dropped lol. Even Jay Z said he told his whole Rocafella crew about 50cent coming & told them to put out as much music as they could because this guy 50cent is coming & then boom In the Club dropped 😁 Game over 🎮❌
