Like you, I am always skeptical when something gets super-hyped. I did like what this plugin offered, however, so I picked it up the day I heard about it. Very happy with the purchase. Very easy to set up and use. But the "ultimate" transition designer? Yeah, no. Not because it's not good, but because someone's always going to come up with a better "mousetrap." (If for no other reason than to show any plugin can always be improved. I doubt even Andrew Huang is going to never improve this first version. ) That said, I'd encourage anyone who is even slightly interested, to pick up a copy while it's only 60$. I doubt it will be cheaper until it makes the rounds at the Discount sites.

I think the plugin desighn is great, very smart, very easy to understand, however I dont really have any issues making transitions and just like this plugin I use the same style effect for most transitions which are Reverb, Delays and some riser sounds. I'm a Reason user and can combine multiple effects devices together and control them with one knob like Trasit if I want.
@andrwwaugh

The knob/parameter acceleration looks nice though It’s something I enjoyed with plug-ins like turnado or stutter edit and can’t be done natively with ableton racks or combinators? Seems like a lot of people are completely missing the main point of this plugin. While it can me used for many ideas, its main focus is transitioning from one part of the mix/song to another. It's not just your regular run of the mill multi effects plugin of which there are a dime a dozen. Very few plugins fit this mold of being mainly for transitions. You have a very easy to use interface and up to 7 bays to put any of 18 or so effects and then one knob to rule them all. Yes, you can replicate this with other software, but it's more work. A lot more work. Just as Andrew Huang or watch his video where he explains why he went ahead and made this plugin. Also some people are saying that in FL Studio or Reaper or whatever DAW is in focus, that you can do something similar for free. First off, I highly doubt that you can actually achieve as easily in any of those DAWs what you can with Transit especially as far as transitions go. Also even if you can, not everyone uses those DAWS, so whatever "solution" you think you have found in say FL Studio won't necessarily be in Logic or Ableton. The beauty of Transit is that it can be used in any DAW, on any computer and it'll work exactly the same in any environment that it's it.

no we get it...but what makes you think muti-fx presets make good transitions...mouse music paint by numbers coloring book collage art laziness...movement, tension, and excitement should come from the musical ideas in your arrangement and/or from your performance by actually playing the parts...If you need a plugin to "keep the listener interested", and that interest is supposed to be provided by a sweep between gimmicky multi-fx presets;...then you simply don't have a good song...people are allowed to call out hyperbole when it happens...if ur in the camp reducing composing and songwriting into djing and dsp video gaming then have at it...make the same simplistic generative stuff and sound like everyone else...with all the hyerbole I thought it was something else and was surprised to find out what it was...but that's on me...i should have known better...that's marketing in a saturated vertical for 2023 And as already said, this has been native in tracktion, HH, and mulab for years...now FL studio and bitwig...and there are many plugin racks with macro designers that can be used in any DAW...mux, bidule, freestyle, studiorack

Great to see an honest looking review like this First glance. I was like “hey, this is just sugar bytes turnado again” but with its ‘dictator’ slider However, Seeing some videos on it, thinking about it a bit and kinda realising, I don’t think sugarbytes plug-ins really stack up well in 2023… they’re often creative ideas but quite garish and silly sounding and are designed with CPU’s from 10 years ago in mind and genres from 10 years ago in mind. I imagine this would have higher quality reverbs and other fx. Great to hear it’s not a total cpu hog too. Also, the way complex automation can be handled in ableton + some of the limitations and tediousness of ableton racks compared to what is a lot more drag and drop and ready to roll… I think it could spice up elements in my music and may actually be performative enough for some live jamming on my drum machine and synths… Im thinking of giving it a shot!

It's pretty good, and reasonably priced. Although, one of their main goals was to simplify workflow by using one single plugin instead of several plug-ins, but it still kinda feels like working on several plugins at to me. (shrug) Also, since Baby Audio has a ducker on their Spaced Out delay/reverb plugin, it would be sick of they added that to Transit. Ducking is pretty crucial when you're combining all kinds of reverbs and delays together. I realize it can be done with other plugins and methods, but it' also very nice to just have that duck-knob right there ready to roll.

My opinion is that if you’re new to the game it’s a quick creative addition. If you’ve been around the block it’s probably not going to be much of an addition to what you already have. Also, I tested it myself and some of the sections add some harsh resonance in the upper mids. Maybe it’s a bug? These kind of resonances can build up, if you don’t know what you’re doing, and by the time your track gets to the mastering stage, you have a whole bunch of upper mid harshness that is enough to drive a mastering engineer mental (believe me, I am one). Baby Audio usually do decent stuff and this is “ok”. But not worthy of the hype at all. Plugins like Soothe and SplitEQ had no hype. They didn’t need it. I’d say try it out. You might like it.

It's hard to tell these days. Everyone uses the Used Car Salesman Aggressive Blitz Marketing style and after the Uni-CON Midi Pack People ran that method into the ground; it's difficult to believe. Trust BUT VERIFY! Thank you!

@@Kevhuman as an ableton live and M4L user from day one of the book of ableton live verse 1.0 I can tell you, the ableton rack macros are not the same.. the workflow is different, which btw was Andrews point being an ableton macro user himself.

@@knobross6703 I wasn't refering to the racks, macro knob is a separate device that can be used to control things outside of a rack, it can be mapped to parameters in. VSTs . It is a m4l device in one of the free packs. You and Andrew spoke of racks, not me. It doesn't have the built in curves though, they would need to be grouped in with other devices or created using the chain envelope in racks . which does make Transit a quicker workflow, unless you build a template. I'm not knocking the plugin, just saying there is a different option in Ableton than using racks if all you're looking for is easy macro control.

I'm no fan but c'mon, cut him some slack. Sure he's into the "fame and fortune" but he is genuine in his interest.
