Thanks a lot. What if you have a degree in Engineering and wants to be a project manager, should I take the PMP or I will still need to take the CAPM?

@rachaelfadairo3089 Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment!! Okay, now to your question: If you have the following requirements: a four-year degree, 36 months of experience leading projects within the past eight years, and 35 hours of project management education or training, then I would say PMP. However, if you do not fulfill all the requirements mentioned, then I would say obtain your CAPM. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

@edwardcokejr I'm currently enrolled after retirement of the military of 7 years. This helps me retrain my mind into something I've been doing for years. But thank you for exploring this. I'm a new subscriber. Thank you.

Ive run a couple of SME and have been looking at this as even though ive brought 2 businesses to 5m and 24m evaluation respectively, and deployed projects internationally, I dont have a lot of knowledge of industry standards, and terminology and operated independently with few stake holders. Anyways, i kind of feel like im starting over again, so i am looking at this for some sort of validation and to fill in wholes in my knowledge to compliment my experience.

@emerson-sheaapril8555: Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment! I have so many questions for you, but I will limit it to two. What knowledge and terminology gaps do you think you have? What industry are you in?
