This basically means that we would be able to create more complex systems with the same amount of people, and this is not bad. We will also see an explosion in startups because it will be easier to create code.

Nice video and it's weird that much of what you said could have been said when I started my CS degree 10 years ago. Everything learnt in a course is only relevant to the present but once you get into the industry you get the chance to forge how things are done. AI is a tool for this purpose, it may be able to write things faster but for the foreseeable future we'll still need to give the AI requirements and verify it works with a human.

I’m no expert but from what I’ve used of ChatGPT I don’t think AI will replace many people until it gets much better It takes more effort to get it to write the code you want than it would to just do it yourself, I can’t imagine someone who doesn’t know how to code trying to use it So far the only thing it’s been good for is basically just being a faster and easier search engine. It can give you great foundations to start writing code from as well That said though based on how fast AI is advancing my thoughts might be completely different in a few months nevermind a year or two

you are overestimating people, there are a lot of very bad programmer that'd be way more efficient with GPT4 already

The only time I have used an AI for my online creator work is using it kinda like an advanced search that it can do in moments ut would take me minutes to do... Also really helpful to find if things are a thing.

If people don’t study computer science anymore. We are going to end up like one those Star Trek worlds that doesn’t know how to move their asteroid ship away from crashing into a populated planet.

It still sucks writing the code is that part I enjoy. This market is already supersaturated I cant imagine if entry level jobs are replaced by AI. Adapt or die.

I think there will always be a place for a human to code, but maybe not as many opportunities

Is nobody else considering that GPT's growth in intelligence is going to be exponential? GPT 5/6/7 may be x^2 more powerful than GPT4. Do you really think many programmers are going to still be employed for a long time with an automated solution that good?

LLM models will not grow more. Sam Altman said it isn't worth to increase the number of parameters, they will iterate over GPT-4 until every human thinking task gets replaced by AI, we are heading to a Wall-e future bro...

@@VegaCaroJuan I think you've misinterpreted his point. The point of him saying that parameters will not grow was to say that it's intelligence in the long run will not be directly correlated with parameter count. He said in the interview with Fridman that if by GPT-7 they've created a super intelligence, he would not be all to surprised. The dude 100% believes that GPT will increase in intelligence, that much is not really up for discussion.

Yeah, I coudn't be more agree with u. The main question I have in mind is: Will the concept of human work still be standing on the long run ? Is it worth ? or we must re-design our entire System?

ChatGPT and AI are basically short programs a human wrote that are piped into a programmer's computer to auto complete the program. Sheesh. Not that hard people. It's kind of like the mysticism that used to surround "The Cloud". The Cloud is nothing more than a server in Cupertino.

Computer science is to AI what economists are to markets. People think they don't need it now, it's because they don't understand how "the markets" work yet nor what they need to customize and navigate them. Simple programmers or even software engineers don't have the math background to know how to validate and assess an AI properly, and it takes way more than just KZitem tutorials to learn that. The only problem is that we'll all be pretty unemployed while the world catches up with what's going on.

@@chaseatlanticfan6553Meaning they'll think the AI can replace us, they attempt it, we all go unemployed, only then do they realize they need people to validate the AI and navigate using it effectively. Thats how I understand their argument. This is neither agreement or disagreement.

What on earth is there left to program? Universal Basic Income would solve almost all homelessness and poverty. And it's simple: go to a federal bank, show your ID, walk out with $1,000 per month.

What on earth isnt there to program? People demand more and more every year and hate things that are static. Even non-technological goods are still updated to stay with the trends, even if they're effectively the same thing. Let alone technology that's constantly evolving and needs people keeping up on it. This is why there's more programmers every year, demand is there.

its just we will need less programmers, instead of 100 we need 20, and that's good, to kick away those lazy programmers who happens to know some css and html
