Yeah, it's literally built on the VW modular electric platform. And the shape is 2020s EV generic. The side profile is really similar to the Polestar (2?) but none of the details point me in the same direction.

vis the Capri vs Mustang vibe , a "Capri" was sold in North America; from ~70-77 the European Capri with 4-cyl and and Cologne V6 engines. From ~79-86 a variant of the then-current Fox body Mustang. Around 2000 there was a two seater convertible from Ford Australia based on a FWD Mazda platform sold for just a couple of years.

I really enjoyed my capris, this, however, is a dull suv copy with, to be fair, a fine paint - not that even this was a capri colour…………..

Wait, prices above the new Explorer EV? I thought this was a bit smaller, though otherwise similar in tech and features/performance.

Nope, this is slightly larger

@@TotallyElectric Thanks, the model names would imply completely the opposite, though as a US resident this is not our Explorer and I don't know if Ford will ever sell these MEB based vehicles here.

Stop with the vertical/portrait central cabin display orientation. Get a clue, Ford. The landscape/portrait car display design is a settled argument. The windscreen, dash, cabin and our eyes are all set up horizontally. A large landscape display flows with how the world is. At a glance vertical even looks wrong. Phones are typically held in portrait as they are, like other objects, easier to hold in this orientation. The only argument to be made is a vertical screen is that it is easier to reach, but this is nonsense as landscape displays are easy to reach too, and are much more usable in a cabin for content and act like a second windscreen viewing space. A vertical display is the wrong design trade-off entirely. Volvo are now releasing a new car with a landscape display, finally. Hopefully Volvo are stating to get the message. Wake up, Ford.

If you use apple carplay will the cluster screen and head up display get the direction? Do you know if you can have more driver profils - one for me and one the wife ?

Yes. You can have multiple driver profiles. I am not sure about the directions from apple car play though.

I don't like most noses on electric cars. Too high, blunt shaped, boring. Apparently, the designers are horrified by the thought of an actual front grille, even if it serves no real purpose and has a solid plate just behind it. E.g. the printed "grille" on some BMW's is just so ugly. It makes them look like toy cars or mockups of some kind. By the way: never ever seen a "blue oval" charging point...🤔

Blue oval is the service from Ford and can charge at a series of operators.

I adored the original Capri. I have no interest in this thing.
