Yes it’s been a really fun lens to use! Pretty much all the shots in the Porsche video are shot with it too. So great for photos and video! Thanks for comment and watching man!

Hi Micheal, I am impressed by your content und would like to hear your opinion in regards to image quality for stills with the a7 iv in crop mode. I had the a6600 for a couple of years but wasn’t 100% happy with certain things in particular the noise in photos at higher ISOs. I also didn’t like the form factor of the aps-c body. Sony’s new release, the (a6700), was not the upgrade I was hoping for. So now I am contemplating to get a a7 iv instead.I do have some very good aps-c lenses which I would like to use for both videos and photos. My question is how does the image quality of the a7iv in crop mode compare to images taken with an aps-c camera. Is the reduced resolution very noticeable if viewed on a 4k monitor or is is negligible? Would love to hear thoughts on this! Thank you so much. Vielen Grüße nach Berlin 😉

@@timoohlsen Hey Tim! I was also hoping for a bit more of a design refresh with the a6700. To answer your questions. For video the asp-c lenses will perform exceptionally. Pretty much no quality loss. The photos will also look really great. You will get 14.83 megapixels with the aps-c lenses in crop mode or the full 33mp but you will have to crop out the vignetting. The pictures for most use cases these days are more than suitable. Regards to noise.. I don't have any issue with the noise from the camera. Hope that helps! cheers!

I recommend to crop in the lens a little bit more, you can see vignetting in the corner as soon you are moving and IBIS hits in (top left at 2:27 per example)

Yes you are right you can definitely crop in a but more. Sometimes I don’t worry about it to much in the vlogging situations and opt for the uniquely wide view. Appreciate you watching and for the keen observation! Thanks for your time!

Thanks Michael for making this informative piece demonstrating photography using the 11mm on Full Frame. I have really enjoyed the presentation of your videos! For the purposes of vlogging, will the 11mm be necessary if I already own the 20-70mm F4?? I currently shoot on the A7Cii + 40mm f2.5 G and have been considering the 20-70 f4 for vlogs/family videos + travel photography. However, I am now also considering the 11mm after your video given its portability + wide FOV😅

Hi Minh! First thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I love the A7Cii I think the 40 is perfect for portraits and movie like shoots for video. If you have the budget. The 20-70 has been my goto for vlogging and making videos and shooting photos. I have a few videos on the channel discussing why I really like the lens. It’s pretty much hassle free. However if you also add the 11 to your kit. The small size of it takes up no space practically and the view is really unique for some situations. I would say if you can only get one the 20-70 will serve your needs for everything. If you have some extra budget the 11 is a joy to vlog with. Hope that helps.

Great video very helpful specially for the Sony A7iv owners I love to know if you took this pictures on full frame cropping the image a little bet ( because of the 33MP ) or did you just shouted on the APSC mode ? Thank you.

Hey David. Thanks for the nice comment. Glad you found it helpful. So most if the pictures are in apsc mode. But there is 3 in full frame and then cropped a bit. The shots are, the one guy in a white tee shirt looking to the street, shot looking at the sunset and river with a girl biking and a girl in green adidas tee with white sunglasses on the bridge with the band. Hope that helps. Appreciate the support. Cheers

Hi DarkHumour. I use PP11 - scinetone for most of the quick vlog type stuff and pp9 SLog3 for anything I know I want to really dial in colours or in harsh lighting. There is a touch of post grading from I LUT I created hoping to get some free ones and paid ones out soon. Thanks for watching and I appreciate you taking time to leave a comment! Stay tuned of the LUTS. Cheers!

Hello, how does this lens compare to the Sony 10-20 mm F4 lens? I am trying to decide between them. Thank you.
@MichaelNgvyen

Hello Fabian. I don't have much experience with that lens. But I used to own the sony 10-18 f4 with my Sony a6500. To be honest the I found the zoom range not great and if you are using it on an apsc camera then low light will be a problem. If you are using for full frame then it won't be as much. I think if you want to take portraits in good light then the 10-20 will be a good lens but if not then the 11mm will be better in more situations because it is sharper and performs better in low light. Hopefully that helps you a but in your decision.

@@MichaelNgvyen Hello, thank you. I have the a6700 with the 16-55 mm F2.8 and I feel I need a wide angle lens and after seeing reviews of it, it looks like a very good option, but I wanted to compare with the 10-20 mm. Thank you for your advice.
