Mercari is replete with those kinds, except they’re not even trying to use a known valuable. There are listings with just an ordinary nickel or quarter and they’re claiming it’s a rare or silver, or some other absurdity. And it’s just an ordinary coin, one of billions. Mercari is filled with that kind of thing.

In highschool my buddy Tim used to stamp quarters with a S on the Eagles chest. Our auto shop had all of the letter stamps big and small. I recently watched a video the other day saying that those quarters were stamped at the mint. But I know a lot of them were stamped by Tim. He called them Super Birds. This was in 1987.

Thank you for exposing one of the sellers on Etsy. I don't know how many times I've seen sellers on various auction sites trying to sell damaged coins as well as common stamps for outrageous prices. I see those ads all the time. I think they are mostly meant to draw attention to their page, so they get credit for page views, and the algorithm puts their page out more. If they get someone to actually buy their products, they consider it a bonus. Also noticed that many of those sellers now have to label them as art and not as genuine.

there is one point that you made that should end all discussion completely.why on Earth would anyone sell a coin of that rarity and that value raw? I'm sorry but in my opinion every time I see any coin on Etsy I just chuckle and laugh it's just ridiculous 90% of them are just so way out and not even close to what they say they are.I really appreciate your information and knowledge when it comes to the subject. Great video ! So the fact of the matter is is that there are some coins that have been damaged by environmental damage Yet can still be a Discovery or mint error coin and scammers ruin the market with their garbage fraudulent coins thus , taking advantage of the buyer! THIS is why it is important to get the coin professionally graded if you think it is worth something A CAC wouldn't hurt either ✨💎💯❗

Daniel really enjoyed this one. Soon as I heard Etsy and your opening commentary I just knew who this "dealer" was I've seen some of his posts and called him out on one of them. Had an 82 Lincoln cent for 35k and I'm like why do you think this coin is so valuable, the reply was " its an error" coin but wouldn't elaborate further. He's a hustler.
