Find out if WOTC is going to disappoint us again with their latest DND release. We discuss the concerns around backwards compatibility and what this means for DND players.
I gotta say, if homebrew is where it’s at, it should be light work to convert old subclasses to the new ruleset. Shift the first feature level to level 3 and you’re sailing smooth. “2014 characters” refers to the classes and feats they will use. 2024 characters are free to use any species or subclass that hasn’t received an update so long as you follow the 2024 creation rules. Also you spelled disappoint wrong 😊

I'm not saying it would be difficult for DMs to make conversions for subclasses that 'didn't make the cut' for the 2024 PHB. The problem is if every DM makes the conversion for their table then the consistency is gone. Also some old feats that are being carried over into the new handbook have been changed so they don't exactly work the same which will make the conversions slightly more difficult. Thanks for pointing out my spelling mistake 😅
