A veteran trauma-recovery therapist suggests that survivors of early-childhood trauma are often unaware that the words and phrases they think and speak are hindering their healing and hope. Examples: "I can't..." / "That (solution) won't work because..." / "I'm just a loser./ failure / wimp" etc. The video suggests that intentionally changing such self-defeatring language to realistically-positive words (like "I'm learning to...") can significantly help personal healing in yourself and wounded others.
